About
A once in a lifetime chance to go sailing on one of the biggest racing yachts ever built for professional round-the-world racing! Nowadays the last active boat of this gigantic series, the 83ft Maxi ketch "Fisher&Paykel" came second in the famous Whitbread Round-the-World Race of 1990 (skippered by Grant Dalton) and reappeared in the 2011 Volvo Ocean Legends Race in Alicante. Super activity for all ages and people who want to spend a moment out of the ordinary.
The crew is very friendly and immediately puts the visitors at ease. You will have the choice to attend the excursion while sitting quietly or to participate in the maneuvers of the boat. The availability of the crew to take pictures, give explanations and involve visitors is great!
Activity not to be missed if you are in the area.

We did the Ocean fun trip rather than the maxi sailing trip but it was fantastic. This a taste of real sailing on a real sailing ship and is suitable for any age. The crew are great and friendly and will answer all questions about the boat. It is a real sailing boat so don't expect comfortable seating or flush toilets. You simply sit of the side of the boat dangle you legs over the side and watch the Dolphins swim near you. You can steer the boat, help wind the sails up or just sit and relax. You can and get hoisted up aloft. The crew are amazing to watch and they climb up the rigging and set the sails. After some sailing the boat stops for a good but basic lunch and you can swim in the clear waters. Drinks are provided including lots of refreshing wine. It was the best boat trip I've ever been on.

Went on the maxi power sailing boat on Friday 14th April 2017 and it really was the best experience I have ever had. If you want a taste of what sailing is like on a professional sailing craft, then this is for you. One can relax on the vessel or take part in helping the crew in various tasks like setting the sails or steering the vessel. This really gives you a feel of what sailing is about. A truly fantastic experience. Thanks for a great day

Highly recommended as its such a great day out and a experience that doesn't come around too often. The crew make you feel welcome as soon as you arrive and allow you to get involved as much or as little as you like in the running of the boat. if you're a keen sailor or like me never stepped foot on a sail boat before its a great experience I'd recommend to anyone! Hold on tight though!

Couldn't recommended this trip enough, exhilarating experience, professionally managed. Great crew, a real insight into large yacht sailing.

We went sailing on Friday, only the wind was almost completly absent. According to the crew this is a rare thing on Fuertaventura. The vessel was stopped so that we could swim arround the ship, which resulted in the picture below. Back in the marina we were told that the forecast for sunday was better and we could enjoy the experience with a great discount.
Needles to say that we took this opportunity and had 2 unique trips. What a trill to sail a vessel like this, you are asked to help if you like or you can enjoy the ride. The crew is very friendly and skilled and make sure this is not juist as the other sailing tours, it is really an experience.
The only downside is that all the boats you sail after this will feel slow and out dated. ;-)
If you like sailing or want to try something new I would totally recommend this!
