About
They are based in Arinaga, as this is where most of the best dive sites in Gran Canaria can be found. They are based in Casa Limon, a spacious, relaxed property with a large garden where you can relax as you prepare your kit, and relax in style between and after your dives. The underwater landscape in Arinaga is dramatic and varied and is rated as one of the best places to dive in the Canaries because of the variety and volume of marine life you can encounter. You can swim through arches, explore caves, or seek out creatures such as angel sharks, rays, morays, barracudas, sea-horses and much more. The waters are sub-tropical which means that many of the fish are brightly coloured, and diving takes place all year round. This PADI 5-star Dive centre won the PADI Outstanding Achievement award in 2018, and the shallower dives sites are excellent for PADI Training courses from snorkeling, through discover dives (try-dives) up to PADI Open Water and PADI Advanced Open Water Courses.

Excellent diving with these guys, the marine reserve of El Cabron has the best underwater wildlife I've seen in these type of waters.
From large Butterfly Ray, Angel shark to tiny Nudibranch, Corel and ferns the guides have super knowledge of the area and are totally professional and patient especially with a old duffer like me.

Myself and 4 others completed our open water PADI course over Easter- we had an amazing time!
We first did the online training before our trip which worked to maximise our holiday time- Brian helped us get the cheaper Gran Canaria price instead of the British one.
We were picked up each morning and taken to the diving centre which had a lovely outside area where we could enjoy many teas and coffees in the sun!
On the first day, we were given a great briefing from Brett before our first dive and felt very confident with 3 instructors for the five of us!
Our second day involved 2 dives and we got to experience the sea pool for our skills training- a great environment for learning skills but still got to see some fish around. We then followed this up with another dive in the reserve that afternoon.
On the final day of the course we did two dives and reached our maximum depth. We added on an extra dive after we’d finished the course where we had the chance to go to a slightly different area which we’d highly recommend and they gave us a great price!
Throughout out dives we saw a huge variety of marine life and our favourites included the octopus (we saw several), a round ray (tabletop only!) and being immersed in shoals of fish!
All the instructors were very helpful for showing us the best spots to see marine life and teaching us more about them!
Brian took some lovely underwater photos of us and we were also able to bring our go pro along as well!
The whole team were so friendly- Brian and eduardo made us feel so welcome and Brett, hector and Pete made us feel comfortable and confident on our dives.
We would highly recommend this centre for anyone who wants to do their PADI!

Managed to fit in one dive whilst away with family . So glad I did, well worth it. 20 years since I passed my PADI course in Gran Canaria before crossing to BSAC. Staff so friendly and accommodating. The diving was great moray eel, octopus, bastard grunts and trigger fish I saw everything I came to see. Thanks again and will definitely book it over here again. Shore dive entry reminiscent of Scotland shore dives 😆

Definitely a challenging 2 day/4dives (shore entry/exit) with Davy Jones Diving in Arinaga Gran Canaria. Special thanks to our amazing Dive Master Alejandro who knew where to find a seahorse, 2 trigger fish, octopus, spotted & black eel, etc etc and fortunately even saw a angel shark swim past us. Water temps reasonable but need to wear 7mm wetsuit. Thank you Alejandro & Davy Jones from a couple of happy 🇨🇦 Divers

A fantastic re introductory dive after 20 years since the last dive for me and my wife. Our two teenage sons were also present as first-time divers.
Pick-up from Maspalomas was on time with very friendly driver, Eduardo.
20 min drive to the dive school. Tea, coffee & water provided on arrival.
Professional and relaxed briefing by Brett made us all feel at ease.
Short ride to dive site.
One instructor per two divers. Peter, who was with my wife and I couldn’t have been more supportive as Kate did have a few panicky moments but got over that.
The dive was great, 10-12 meters, with very good visibility and plenty of sea life on view up close. Lasted 40 mins underwater. All went very well.
Had another coffee afterwards back at the base before transfer home again.
All thoroughly enjoyed it and would highly recommend.

Fantastic experience diving with Hector from Davy Jones diving.
Me and my girlfriend have only dived a handful of times between us and from the minute Hector picked us up in Las Palmas we were put at ease. He explained everything including safety so clearly and once we were in the water made sure we were comfortable at each stage of the dive.
The whole day was a wonderful experience and I would definitely book another dive if I visit Gran Canaria in future.

One of the most amazing experiences! The diving centre is super friendly, and don't be shy to ask everything if you have any questions about diving or anything about Gran Canaria! They put safety first and pay attention to details. Will definitely go back!

I had a great time diving one day in June with Alejandro, Brian and Hector from Davy Jones Diving in the El Cabrón Marine Reserve in Arinaga, Gran Canaria. We saw so many sea creatures - including rays, octopus, moray eels, arrow crabs, shrimp, and countless varieties of fish.
As a solo diver, the team at Davy Jones looked after me and made me feel safe and welcome. My only regret is that I should have requested a larger tank as my air consumption wasn't very good on the day. I only dived for one day (2 dives total), so I would recommend going for two days or more in order to see more of the El Cabrón Marine Reserve.
This was my second time diving with Davy Jones Diving, and I recommend them if visiting Gran Canaria. I hope to return soon.

I can highly recommend Davy Jones Diving. From the beginning to the end everything was well-organized and I felt in very good hands. To make it short: great people, well-organised and fantastic dive spots. It was a pleasure!

Hi! I'm looking at doing my OWD in December, if you're available how much of a deposit would be required to do the online part at home before I come?
divebrian
Aguimes, Spain14 contributions
Hi, yes we are open all year round, so December will be fine. We do not require any deposit ourselves, but if you choose to do the PADI e-learning then the price is around €130 per person, and you can sign up using the link in the blue box on the left of our website (where you will find the exact current prices)
Hope this answers your questions,

Hi, I am coming for a week in mid-November and would like to do a couple of wreck dives (Advanced plus Deep specialty with 200 dives logged). Please can you let me know;
i) How often you arrange wreck dives,
ii) How do you ge to the locations - from boat via your base or from a boat more locally to the wreck?
iii) How cold is the water likely to be in mid-November (I only have a 3mm shorty!).
Many thanks,
Peter

Hello Peter,
Thanks for the questions. During November we are currently fully booked for the weeks commencing 7th and 14th November. After that we will probably only do one or two days of wreck diving in Las Palmas or Mogan as most people come to us to explore the Marine Reserve. For all the wreck dives we work with other centres close to the wrecks.. so we drive the majority of the way in the minibus, and then ride out to the wrecks by RIB.
I think a 3mm Shorty will be far too cold. We use 6-7mm long suits all year round.
I hope this answers your questions,
Brian

How many days for an open water padi course from scratch? And how many days if my son does the preliminaries in UK and gets a referral certificate? I am trying to organise this for him for a 4 or 5 night short break but need to link it all in in November.
divebrian
Aguimes, Spain14 contributions
Hi Linda,
The normal full course is four days, but if your son does the work in the pool, then we have 'Go-Warm' which is the four Open Water dives over just two days. For this he just needs the standard PADI Referral document. There is a lot more detail of the course content on our website.

Can we pre book and how much is it
divebrian
Aguimes, Spain14 contributions
Hi Sue, Yes, in fact most people pre-book to guarantee a place. To take a beginners introductory dive, looked after by the instructor, who will then point out all the hidden marine life, the price is €85 per person. You can get a lot more detail from our website including the prices of PADI Courses and prices for divers with a qualification, and there is also a booking form on the website.. You can also book by ringing on (0034) 699721584 or by sending an email to the address on the website.
Best wishes

Hi, is this suitable for children.. If so, from what age?
Thanks
Pete
Brian g
Aguimes, Spain1 contribution
Hi Pete, yes this is great fun for children and as they grow older they can take more challenging activities and get to see more and more of the marine life. We take children from 8 years of age on Snorkelling excursions in very calm waters where there is still plenty to see, and if the children are physically well developed, from about 9 on the 'Bubblemaker', an easy introductory programme to diving with a tank in very shallow water. From 10, children can get more involved and do either the daycourse or if they really want to get a qualification, then the PADI Junior Scuba Diver or the PADI junior Open Water. from 15 they are treated the same as adults, and under the watchful eyes of our instructors can dive to a maximum of 18m where there is a great chance to see angel sharks, rays and moray eels.
At the moment in summer we seem to have under 15's with us on most days, so the team are very experienced at making sure the messages are understood, and that close levels of supervision are always in place.
Hope this answers your questions
Brian
