- Jon BManchester, United Kingdom59 contributionsDon't miss this opportunity!!!Truly worth the long drive to reach the view point. The views are breathtaking, even if its a cloudy day. Arrive an hour before sunset to enjoy the scenery then find your position to take the photos you'll remember for the rest of your life. Bring a jumper for early evening just incase and some snacks to make the most of it. The only sound advice I'd offer, make sure you have enough fuel in your vehicle to do the trip as there are no services nearby. Enjoy and make memories.Visited March 2023Written 7 April 2023

Small parking but you don't stay long so if you arrive before noon, it should be Ok. +1 950m, highest point of Gran Canaria and you can also see the Roque Nuble just in front of you. Definitely a very good spot for pictures but also if you want to start some walks within the foreSt & mountains (if so, go back and park your car just 5mn down the road, it will be easier and safer).Visited August 2023Travelled with familyWritten 26 August 2023
- HayleyLondon, United Kingdom16 contributionsFresh airGreat hike, got to see pine trees (smelt refreshing), few different plants to see and the clouds as we hiked on a cloudy day, you can see other mountains around you when you’re slowly ascending. The hike isn’t hard it’s just a long walk, there are arrows painted on rocks to indicate which way to go. The view from the top would’ve been lovely if it wasn’t cloudy as we could see much around. But it was still an achievement to make to the top and back down by foot. Yes there is a military building when you reach the top, I know there is another summit on the same mountain but I’ve just ended up here.Visited September 2023Travelled as a coupleWritten 21 September 2023

Stunning views on a clear day. We drove up on a clear October morning and were not disappointed. Every angle had a different, breathtaking view of the island.

Pico de las Nieves is the highest point in Gran Canaria. It has a spectacular view over the valleys bellow and even to Tenerife island. You can travel there by car, motocycle or bike, or you can try the hiking trails if you want to enjoy the nature.

Wow! Just wow! If you are looking to get away from the resorts and explore the true island, get a hire car and drive.
The drive in and around the mountains is certainly not for the faint hearted, although worth every hair pin bend, twists and single track road.
There is a lovely Spanish gentleman with a truck selling light refreshments, snacks and sun cream.
This is a fantastic area for hiking and trails in the “winter”. Unfortunately in excess of 40 degrees Celsius the day we were up, to hot for hiking!
Not recommend if you are a nervous driver or have passengers that experience motion sickness!

Amazing views from the spot! It’s really worth going there for the views.
Just be aware that the road to this place is quite dangerous. We drove there from Maspalomas. Half of the way was ok but the other half of the road leading up to mountain was quite narrow and dangerous. I wouldn’t advise to drive there unless you are an experienced driver.
Once arrived there is no designated parking, however there was plenty of space to park our car on the side of the road just next to this spot.
Bare in mind you won’t find any restaurants or cafes around. There is just one guy in a trailer selling some snacks & drinks.

A joyous circular hike! Free parking, access to clean toilets at the start of the hike at the campsite and access to a map showing the different possible routes (all marked reasonably clearly throughout the hike itself!). Beautiful views. It is mainly uphill so can get tiring. We also spotted the canary birds at the top! There are two refreshment points during hike S-51. We were really impressed!

It was quite a hairy drive on narrow, windy, hairpin roads in our under powered, small rental car, but very worth it! Some amazing countryside and geological structures to see. Lots of trails/hiking.

Bonjour oui je pense car la vue est à 360 degrés on peut voir tenerife par temps clair .très très belle vue
We read that Pico De las Nieves was easy to get to from Maspolomas without having to spend out on a excursion or taxi. We don't drive and rely on bus routes. We read that a line 18 bus to Aycata then a simple 16 minute walk from Aycata would get us there but now we are in gran Canaria we are being told that it is almost impossible to do it this way and that from Aycata it would take a few hours to get there and not advised to try go there. This was going to be the highlight of our holiday and now it looks like we can't get there. We are in gran Canaria right now and was hoping if someone could tell us if the hotel and holiday reps could be wrong and maybe not clued up to the bus and walk routes? Can we get there easily and easily get back to and from Maspolomas using the line 18 bus and is it a short walk from Aycata? We don't drive and don't want to spend over 50 euros on a coach excursion or huge taxi fares to get there as we are a young couple on a tight budget. I need some time there as a keen photographer. Please can anyone help out here? Is it easy to get to or not using a line 18 bus? We found a website called Rome for u and it states it would be cheap as chips on a line 18 bus then a 16 minute walk??? I am confused?? Really need some help as leaving gran Canaria on Friday so pushed for time. Really want to go here. it was this place that drew us to the Island. :(

I am afraid I would not be able to help on this occasion :( I rented a car as it seemed to be the best option to get around the island. I have not seen that many buses on my way, so I assume bus services throughout the middle part of Gran Canaria are not very frequent. I wonder if you have tried Uber, and if it is an option up there?
