Worth A Visit
Dec 2020 • Solo
This was a long and difficult drive from Puerto Rico .Where we were staying. The drive up the mountain is on a very narrow road with just about enough room for 2 cars to pass on .After getting to the top we were disappointed as the visibility was not good due to a heavy mist.Just bad timing. The drive down was lovely and I stop in some lovely villages.Like Arteinara and Teor.

Mountaineering As It Should Be!
Nov 2020 • Business
Indeed. You can drive to the very top of Pico, grab a coffee and a cone from the food van and get the pictures, the views and fresh air without so much as breaking sweat.

This is how it should be. The alternative is spikes on your shoes, oxygen, ropes and sheer terror. No thanks.

Joking apart. A lovely scenic drive takes you up to the summit with stunning views. A day out may also include Roque Nublo (8km) from Pico.

The extended area is classified as Unesco Biodiversity. Easy to see why. Truly stunning.

A lengthy winding drive rewarded by a spectacular view
Aug 2020 • Friends
It was a winding drive up to the top but the reward was a breathtaking view that even silenced the otherwise talkative part of the group... Is not the Grand Canyon but still a beauty in its own right

Wonderful views from the top of the island
Dec 2019
We visited Pico de las Nieves as part of a cruise ship all day excursion on Gran Canaria. We visited in a small 16-seat minibus, probably the largest size of vehicle safe enough to navigate the twisting roads that leads to this point, the highest viewpoint on the island.

The view from the parking area is great but you can also climb to the very highest point via a short pathway leading up from the parking area, although do take care as it's not suitable for those afraid of heights or unstable on your feet.

There was a van serving snacks and selling souvenirs to the tourists, and we bought a couple of fridge magnets as souvenirs. Parking places are limited to it's perhaps best to get there early. The views over the island and Roque Nublo are well worth the visit.

Las pPalmas is a wonderful city but the island has many beautiful places that you can hardly find yourself, our vacation was wonderful thanks to the man we met on the beach las canteras Mr. kristofer is a local private guide who took us on an adventure of life, a small van of 8 took our whole family on a day-long encirclement of the island, among other things we were at a banana and coffee spot, we drank local coffee picking it straight from the bush, the local rum and banana liqueur something amazing, oranges, avocados and papayas straight from the tree, dinner at a local restaurant, local fish in a picturesque in the town of puerto de las nives, beautiful dunes beaches in maspalomas, we are very pleased with such a private trip, I recommend everyone to contact Mr. Cristobal, +34602410233, just call and make an appointment at your hotel to discuss an individual sightseeing plan, I recommend Gran Canaria Trip on the feacebook there our photos from the trip around the island

The view is great and the top is 3 minutes hike up from the car park, you can easily go with young kids. The metal barier on the top is not very safe, so be careful with the young ones! On the car park there is a van selling local food and aloe cosmetics, we didn't buy anything though, so unsure about prices. Take some warmer clothes, the temperature is much lower thank in lower parts of the island.

Great walk!
Feb 2020 • Couples
It’s possible to drive right up to the summit if you wish. However, we drove up to Llanos de la Pez and did a hike around the Llanos de la Pez circular. Just type in “Llanos de la Pez” into Google Maps for the starting point. There are picnic benches there and some toilets. We found our route using the Alltrails app. As others have said, the roads up the mountain are in very good condition, but they aren’t for the faint hearted!

Beautiful place to stop and take the walk. The roads are fun to drive. If you do love the mountains this is a must on your list. Picnic tables and fire pits are available in case you wish to pack a lunch.

Ohh The Views!

Beautiful place to stop and take in the wonder of the mountains in Gran Canaria. Easy to find, requires the use of a car. Parking available. Picnic tables and fire pits are available in case you wish to pack a lunch. This a true nature spot...no restaurants...did not see a public toilet either.
