Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

Another pleasant little plaza tucked around a side street in front of Parroquia de Santo Domingo de Guzman. Church located off the plaza was open for visitors.

Right in the heart of Vegueta is Plaza de Santo Domingo. You will find the Church of Santo Domingo at the same location.
I really enjoy peace and tranquillity and I sure found it here. It was nice to sit and relax and just take it all in.
A nice fairly open square, with trees and railings around them, ornate lamp standards, ornate stone seats, and last but not least the fountain in the centre of the square.
Plaza de Santo Domingo is about a 5 to 10 minute walk from the Cathedral, and well worth a visit.

We walked through the Plaza de Santa Domingo on our way from the cruise port to the Vegueta, it is a nice plaza, but it was a cloudy day so there were very few people.

A peaceful little square away from the hustle and bustle of the cathedral area. Worth the few minutes stroll to see this nice old plaza.

Set in one of the oldest parts of Vegueta, you can imagine this square bustling with locals going about their business when hand carts and horses were the transport of the day. There are 2 churches overlooking the square and the bells chime from 8am right through to 10pm with additional sets calling parishioners to prayer. During our visit there were many school children visiting with their teachers, who were talking about the history of the square and during an evening stroll through the square, we were entertained by a local choir, all in all, a lovely quiet part of the city within 10 mins walk from the more popular tourist and shopping areas.

Plaza de Santo Domingo is situated in Vegueta, near Plaza del Espiritu Santo. when we visited the square, we assisted to a show of Canarian children, who produced folk dances and songs.

Nice to sit in, nothing to watch but the locals going about their own quiet business and not much traffic. Could be in the 19th Century. Very unspoiled.

Plaza de Santo Domingo was a couple of doors away from La Casa de Vegueta where I was staying so I visited it a few times during my holiday. In the square is Santo Domingo church, which I didn't get a chance to visit during my stay, a well and stone benches. The square is about a 5 minute walk from the cathedral in a quieter part of the old town, less touristy and so it is really peaceful apart from the delightful chiming of the church bells.
