Long and sometimes hairaising drive, but no different to rest of la palma! Worth it, great views from the and plenty of relative low vertiguousness walking as long as you stay away from edge!

The trip to the top of Roque de Los Muchachos is already great, stunning views, beautiful nature...... Getting on top, all around you impressive and massive calderas / craters and vulcanis rock, build and formed by huge forces of nature..... Watching the clouds roll over the mountains, like waterfalls....great ! If you are fortunate and skies are clear, great views... More

That's definitely one of the must on LaPalma! Get over the clouds, wait for a sunset, watch the skies with the amount of stars, you have never actually seen!

The drive up to the highest point on La Palma, and the well paved paths at the view points, are definitely not for vertigo sufferers! However if you can cope with that, the views are amazing and give a great feel for the whole island and its relationship to its nearest neighbours. Worth a visit if you can handle the... More

As others have pointed out the drive from Santa Cruz is "interesting" with 24 miles of twisty mountain roads and you have to keep your wits about you and avoid the scenic distractions as well. Once above the cloud line the views are sublime. The side road into the area is open from 07:00 - 19:00, which is a pain... More

The highest point on La Palma. Not only fantastic when you are there but a great drive up- although the driver had better watch the road like a hawk. We drove up from the Santa Cruz side & firstly one climbs out of town , the houses becoming less until mainly trees & shrubs line the road & higher up... More

Interesting drive from tropical sea level through cloud pine forest, emerging into a harsh, barren landscape with those unworldly domes. Large rock layers of yellow ochre and red oxide colour this bleak landscape. If you have a head for heights do walk out to the second and furthest viewpoint which has a platform in a sea of clouds. This walk... More

We did a walk from the Rother walking guide. Great walk with the most spectacular views that you can imagine!! It was a clear day without wind, so even in the month of april we could walk in T-shirt and shorts! When you are not that sportive you can drive to the top by car and walk the last end... More
