Magnificent home and gardens open to public (museum, bar and restaurant). Built for Omar Sharif by Jesus Soto and influenced by Cesar Manrique (responsible for almost every architectural tourist attraction on Lanzarote). One of Lanzarote's top 10 I reckon.

We couldn't find any trips to LagOmar so had to get a taxi, from Costa Teguise about €15 each way. But we thought it worth it. Absolutely stunning, tranquil, carved into the side of a volcano, just visit! Not a huge place but only about...More

A coach trip took us to this architect's indulgence. Lovely to explore, but steep so inaccessible to anyone who can't do stairs. We were fine, though had to keep moving along as popular. A novelty as somewhere to stay, it may have been dangerous to...More

This is a fantastic surreal home built into the side of a hill using the natural materials and formations of the rocky hillside. It was aledgedly bought by Omar Sherief but he lost it almost immediately in a game of bridge and is now a...More

I have never seen a house like this. No one has. The house itself is actually quite small but when you combine the building with the garden is covers quite a large area. There are a lot of steps to negotiate but it is well...More

Worth visiting just to see how volcanic caves can be designed into different types of rooms. Not practical as a first home but wow what a place to bring friends at the weekend to play cards high above the spectacular pool. The myth of Omar...More

What a wonderful place. I imagine this house (for want of something to call it) would be able to tell some tales from over the years. It's is a startling place to visit, with things to discover around every corner. Certainly worth a visit, wish...More

This warren of a house complex is well worth a visit just to witness the artistic imagination and vision of César Manrique and artist Jesús Soto, and take in some wonderful panoramic views over the volcanic landscape. A little tired around the edges though, could...More

The restaurant is good - not “cheap” but we found very good value for money. Not really for snacks - more to take your time over good food and good wine with a great ambience.
