There is a good trail here with info boards. I would recommend to go to the top of the volcano. It's a long walk, the view from the top is wonderful, you can almost see the entire island. Can take around 3 hours to see everything. Go early for cooler weather. Free parking is available.

Thanks to happy hiker web page we found this excellent walk. The path starts from a car park through lava fields to the foot of the volcano. We then followed the path round the base and it to the crater. The views from the far side are spectacular. You can see where the lava field meets the sea, mixed with... More

The start of the walk is relatively easy to find. Caldera Blanca is located on LZ67 beyond the Timanfaya national park entrance and just before Mancha Blanca. There is a dirt track on a bend on your left as the road bends right. The track leads you to a small car park. From there you walk through a well maintained... More

We found this walk on the happy hiker webpage, giving several walks in Lanzarote. The trail is easy to find if you follow the directions and not far from the National Park. The path is mostly lava stones, not the easiest to walk on, so stout footwear is essential, although I found my trainers ok. The views from the rim... More

This is a long hike and to be honest you can do and see very similar things without the effort. Decent shoes/boots are essential I feel as it is very rugged underfoot. Take water with you.

We revisited the park as on ur first visit we didn't bother to stop. On our second visit we did paid the €9 per person to visit the centre. After a short drive from the entrance, friendly staff point out your parking place. Even in January parking is very busy, so I would advise an early start to avoid queues.... More

Probably not very common place to visit. But beautifull! It takes some 3 hours to get there and back and you need shoes for hiking.

it takes around 3h and 4h for the full trip, but it is worth it. The view is amazing. You will see two craters. This being said the path to reach the craters is made of rocks so it is very painfull for the feet and the shoes (even with walking shoes) and a bit long (1h30 out of 3h).... More

This was the best thing on the island from our trip. Views from the moment you reach the peak of the volcano are fantastic, breath taking and beautiful. Others here have provided great detail on accessing etc. our experience was that you are better off doing the route to the top in a clockwise direction and then retracing your steps.... More
