This is a great place to watch the surfers grappling with the waves. If you want to learn there are plenty of surf shops to get you upright. Even if you don't surf the scenery is stunning and there are plenty of restaurants to have a lady lunch.

Came across this place by chance. It is a little gem. Not really much there but it is scenic and the views across the sea to La Graciosa are out of this world. It is also a good place to surf with large rolling waves. There is a long dune covered beach. The far end has lifeguard protection. Well worth... More

No wonder the windsurfers like this! Fabulous conditions for surfing and a decent walk, too. No bar on the beach, which is a shame, but several in the adjacent town.

Awesome beach in north west side, away from the main touristy areas. Surfer paradise. You can feel the power of the ocean! From Haría "guagua "(bus) 7 to Teguise, then bus 31 from Teguise to Caleta de Famara. I suggest to spend an hour or more discovering Teguise.

We were impressed with the huge waves and the backdrop of the mountains. Parking was easy. however, there was a lack of any facilities and as this is a p[lace clearly popular with surfers it is a problem, as witnessed when a male surfer got out of his vehicle in fromnt of ours and urinated in full view of everyone,... The day started a little cloudy so we set off in the car to see the island. Travelling up the west coast we found ourselves at Famara Beach. The volcanic back drop attracted the clouds but some how it was stunning. A little drizzle didn't stop is getting out to explore. A few surfer obviously truly dedicated were in the... More

A beach favoured by the world's surfers and happy go lucky people. The beach and sea right at the end is difficult to reach as there are a huge amount of large black lava stones to negotiate before you eventually reach the water's edge. . Famara is also used by nudists who usually sunbathe in the hollows of the man-made... More
