One of the main tourist attractions of this otherwise lunar lava and dry island is the "camel" rides. They have built a cage the carries 2 people on either side of the hump for about a 1/3 mile. Some of the Dromedaries were friendly and...More

Yes, these camels are here for the tourist and are led BUT they are not coerced in any other way than by voice requests. I thought these animals were in good condition and happy. They got lots of rest breaks and the handlers were very...More

Was amazing. Done as part of Short South Tour. Scary when camels didnt want to do what handlers wanted but would definitely recommend. Lots of camels. Wouldnt recommend if you are overweight as it is cruel to the camels to carry that amount of weight.

I have no words, it’s the worst experience I have ever been through. The camels seem like they are suffering and after I saw the conditions I refused to get on and left. I don’t understand how people can see their faces and still get...More

At 6 Euro a person this is worth doing. It’s great fun. Our kids enjoyed it as did we. It only lasts around 15 minutes but that was enough for me. The camels looked clean and well looked after.

As part of the Lanzarote Grand tour we had a camel ride. This was an interesting experience. The camels look well cared for and we saw no poor treatment to the camels whilst there. You go in pairs and act under the direction of the...More
