    Excellent free walking tour
Just go to the Tourist Information Office and sign up for a free, guided, one-hour walking tour. We had Andres, who spoke very good English and gave us an interesting look inside some of the finest old houses, which we would never have done on our own. Ours started at 11.00am but there may be others.

Nice half day trip from Puerto de la Cruz
The old town of San Cristobal la Laguna is nice to walk around, and has many shops, cafes and restaurants. However it didn’t blow our minds in any way, it was just nice. The best experience was to have a coffee in the cafeteria next to the catedral. Still, would recommend for a half a day trip.

    Fabulous place to wander
The old capital of Tenerife is a fabulous place to wander and absorb the ambiance of the place. Some of the buildings are more than 400 years old and some are open to the public so you can see the internal courtyards. It wasn’t crowded when we were there in June and the streets and alleys were spotlessly clean.

Not very interesting at all. Sorry but did not like it . Long trek up to it. Charge for entry 7 euro. More people walking away than paying. No adequate signage. No guides to indicate where to go. World heritage? Not on my watch

Weird and unatttactive experience. La Laguna has a much more rough vibe than what you experience other places in Tenerife. The parking situation is a nightmare and there are jaywalkers all over. I didn’t like the layout of the city either in a grid. Lots of nice buildings though and we also found a cafeteria (Cafetería Valenzia) which had a vinrant, cozy and local vibe. Could be we should have prepared the visit more to have seen the charm of the place -but coming back is not hgh on the agenda.

We had a lovely walk around the historic streets. There’s also plenty of shops to have a look in and a few bars and restaurants if you wish to stop for a drink.

This is a beautiful portion of the city and well worth a 1/2 day or so visit. The buildings are all highly unusual, beautiful and in great condition. The streets are pedestrianised too mainly, which makes getting around very safe. Some nice restaurants, bars and cafes too.

This beautiful town centre is well worth a visit. The mansions are beautiful, pop your head in any open doors and see the leafy courtyards. It’s a feast for the eyes and there are more than enough cafes and bars to enjoy a feast for the tummy too. It’s cooler than on the coast in winter so wrap up a little warmer. The free and street parking was totally full on a Friday lunchtime, but we parked no problem in the ‘central’ car park.

We managed to park up and went for a wander. As it was a public holiday, there were lots of people about, enjoying their time off. A lovely atmosphere in the area.

Lots of lovely buildings and beautiful streets to look at, with some amazing sculptures dotted about too. Also appreciated that Christmas lights and decorations were up.
