Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

Beach located near the picturesque village of Taganana, very pretty, dark, with pebbles, but also very fine and soft sand (it glitters in the sun, and is beautiful), which is accessed via stairs. It is nestled at the foot of the cliff of the Anaga massif. When we went there were 3 lifeguards who were constantly watching. Unfortunately the ocean that day was very rough, which did not allow us to immerse ourselves completely, but only up to our legs, still allowing us to have fun with its waves. Someone even tried to surf.
Always enter the water with caution, as sudden currents and waves are frequent.
Behind the beach there are bars and restaurants where you can eat fresh fish and the typical "papas arrugadas".
It would have been nice to walk around the rock complex on the right side of the beach, but, due to the very rough ocean, a security guard had closed the passage.

As you can see from the photos, the beach has black, volcanic sand typical for the Canary Islands. The road from Santa Cruz is good although a little tricky. Actually I can recommend you using public transportation - bus number 946. There's a stop wright in front of the beach and Roque de las Bodegas. Also go to the beach during low tide - you get to enjoy wider strip of sand. Another thing worth mentioning is that the waves are bigger than the south side which makes this beach choice number one for the surfers from the Santa Cruz area.

In winter the waves were massive and crushing to the rocks close to the shore. The place is quite secluded - good if you look for some escape from the coastal resorts of southern Tenerife.

A wind swept beach a long way from the tourist zones. A couple of bars and lots of people surfing. You will need to drive through some of the most stunning views on twisting mountain roads but worth it!

Super beautiful beach with clean and crystal clear water. Small bars and restaurants are never to the beach. Would recommend

Winding our way around the coast we dropped down from the mountain to have a pit stop as did many others. Worth a visit if you are in the area.

Spectacular views. Definitely worth visiting, especially if you’re coming to see the spectacular Taganana village and the beautiful surrounding areas.

We took the public bus from Santa Cruz de Tenerife up to Taganana village then we walked from Taganana village along the main road down to Playa del Roque de las Bodegas beach where we had lunch. Overall a great day trip and very affordable if you take the public bus which runs every few hours (all the way to Playa del Roque de las Bodegas) and only costs a few euros per person (timings are available on Google maps).

Beautiful place. Perfect food. The restaurant Los Roques de Anaga(Casa Olga) the best in the area. And the waiter there, the most!
