Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

This palace is located on a peninsula in Santander. You can book your ticket at the vicinity. It is beautiful inside the rooms. Firstly you get played a video, which has subtitles in English. Then you are brought around a tour of the palace, with a guide, telling you interesting facts about the place. There are two stories in the palace. If you want to look around inside, you should bear in mind that the guided part of the tour is only in Spanish. Also, there are two stories there, but you only get to see the ground floor.

The former summer residence of King Alfonso XIII until the end of his reign, and now owned by the city of Santander. The exterior of the building is built in a bizarre mix of different styles, especially the south-east facing side which looked like it could’ve been several houses joined together. There’s Neo-Gothic, Neo Renaissance, Flemish and Catabrian influences everywhere.

Well, I came to Santander to visit the palace almost exclusively and what was my surprise that the schedules coincided and they charged me and everything for the tourist train but... oh! Surprise when I arrive they tell me that it is closed for an event.
It does not seem ethical or moral to me that neither the tourist train service nor from below warns that the palace is closed today. They simply charge you until you reach the top and then you find yourself with the paper closed for the event. A shame

After watching the spanish novela "Gran Hotel", we found out that this place existed. Since we were planning to travel to northern Spain, we decided to visit this place. We were not interested in visiting the inside. The day was cold so staying around was hard since the wind was very cold and strong. It did not disappoint us.

We took a taxi to get there, so he dropped us off at the top. We walked down and went to the see the La Niña, La Pinta and La Santa Maria ships they had on display. It was cute. The school kids that were there really enjoyed it.

This is a former Royal Summer Palace which is now used by the local university for its summer language program. A visit here is only possible via a tour which was only in spanish, though the guide would answer questions in English. Not an “over-the-top” setting but a peasant one. The Palace is on the Peninsula de la Magdalena , which in itself is quite nice.

Good! Going to see the palace following the Netflix series Grand Hotel
Nicely maintained, somewhat disappointing to reference the series. The tour was also entirely in Spanish. You did have an English version that you could download on the smartphone, but it is extremely concise...

The information guy ruined our visit. We went the only day it was open and they didn't tell us that we had to get an advance ticket. When we arrived there were no more and he was rude, arrogant and unpleasant. And of course he never apologized. It is incredible that they have a person like that to DISINFORM tourism. He is not qualified for the job.

Unless you speak Spanish, do not bother.

We tried to use the English spoken QR code but there is no way of knowing which clip you should be listening to.

Unless you're Spanish, give this one a miss.

We did not actually go into the Palacio, just walked around it, so maybe I shouldn’t really be reviewing. - but I wanted to mention that it really is lovely on the peninsula and well worth a visit just for the views. We are planning to return tomorrow and walk around some more!

A beautiful walk. It can be done on foot or take the little train for the little ones. The environment is very pleasant. I didn't go into the palace because the hours are ridiculous, but it's worth going to see it from the outside and for the landscapes and views.
