Even after reading travel guides, the real experience exceeded all expectations. So beautifully painted...Hard to imagine how they could survive centuries of turbulence in Europe.

This houses a beautiful Persian weathervane from the 6th C, frescos from the 13th C, damaged artifacts due to Napoleon's soldiers, and an incredible chalice. Plus nice bathrooms!

5€ to enter; guided tours only. No photography or video allowed. The tour lasted about 40 minutes. The 11th century paintings on the ceiling along with seeing the Chalice of Dona Urraca, alleged to be the Holy Grail, were worth the admission.

This is attached to a place of worship, but you need to go into the museum part to see the real gems. It is via guided tour so ask when you visit to get the right one for you.

A visit with guide is a must. No other option I think, so check the hours. The mural was amazing, it is more than a thousand years old.
