Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

This is a must as long as you don't mind heights or narrow, winding staircases. The views of Salamanca are excellent and you get to see the new cathedral from above. I nearly had a heart attack when I was in the bell tower and they started ringing!

Start here! If you want to experience Salamanca, start here. Climb the steps to the roof and get a great view of the city. But just as important, you’ll be on the roof of the two cathedrals, and get a birds-eye view of the interior of the two cathedrals. Our suggestion: start your tour of Salamanca here in the morning, before it gets hot.

The leronimus in salamanca is a cathedral which is joint together into two parts, the old cathedral and the new cathedral, and has many artistic zones which are worth seeing. It was built sometime in the 9th century.

Sadly we did not have time to go up the bell tower (maybe just as well as I am terrified of heights!) but like all of the buildings in Salamanca, it is a beautiful structure constructed from lovely local golden sandstone. Very photogenic!

A visit to Leronimus was enjoyable and not particularly strenuous. The entrance fee of €4 is however high compared with the exprience of visiting a similar sight. The view is nice but not worth the expense.

I booked the evening walking tour in the hopes to see the towers and have some good views of sunsets and night - ended up stuck for two hours inside listening to a guide talking non-stop (and not everything he said was accurate). The towers itself are amazing, and the views stunning, but I would not take a guided tour, do it on your own and at your own pace.

The whole Salamanca Cathedral with all the parts is just an amazing place to
visit. For me it maybe the highlight of the 2 weeks travel this time to Spain.
We visited late at night and the illumination and view were just splendid.

In this experience, for 4€ per person, you get to go up and experience both the old and new cathedrals from different vantage points. Towards the end, you also get to climb to the top (albeit the steps are very steep and somewhat treacherous). From the roof you get a panoramic view of Salamanca. Overall a great experience!

We have done the evening experience. Being in both Cathedrals with the lights, the sounds, walking on the roofs, touching the walls, etc has been the most amazing experience in Salamanca. This is a must to do and the staff was extremely friendly and she had all the information that we could imagine.

For around 5 euros you get entry to the Ieronimus. Not many people realise that this is part of the two cathedrals in Salamanca and the tour takes you inside and outside both structures. It is great fun taking the tour on your own, you can spend as long as you like on each part. There are a number of rooms to visit, one cataloging the 1755 Portuguese earthquake which decimated a lot of Salamanca. Once you reach the highest point of the tour you are 110 metres above the city and the views are fantastic. Getting down the narrow stairs is fun, they operate a traffic light system and it will take around 3 minutes. I have visited this site numerous occasions and always find somethings new to see. Simply excellent.
