Interesting neighborhood with really old houses making contrast to the rest of Segovia. They are less colorful and have less stores or restaurants, the neighborhood was very calm and quiet while we were there and we basically only saw other tourists. Do not know if there are many people still living there. Anyway it is a short visit. It is not big.

We enjoyed our visit to the tranquil Segovian Juderia. We visited the former synagogue which is now a church, the Didactic Center and took an interesting walk over to the Jewish cemetery. From here, there are panoramic views of Segovia. If you are interested in pre-expulsion Jewish history, do not miss it.

Ton of history in every stone, corner and the house. 500 years of Catholic rule could not erase the 1500 year presence in Iberia. Spanish government preserved really well what is left of it.

We took a private walking tour of the Segovia juderia with Asher B. who is a very knowledgeable and extremely nice member of the Madrid Jewish community. He took time to explain all about the Jewish life in Segovia throughout the different periods of Spanish history and answered all our questions.His passion for the subject is contagious! He also does tours of Jewish Toledo.

there is a small jewish center/museum in old segovia that bears some objects and offers some views of the old comunity history. However, the sinagogue is closed and former older buildings, now part of an monastery, is also closed to visitation. The jewish agenda is too limited for the importance of former jewish heritage of the city

La Juderia is a beautiful neighborhood with tons of history. Highly recommend going with a guide or someone who knows the history of the area. There is a beautiful park hidden that has an amazing view of cemeterio de los judios.

I believe it cost 2.5 Euros when I visited March 2013. It contains 2 rooms. The first small room is primarily an overview of Jewish tradition. The second room is a little larger and has some basic information on the Jewish heritage of Segovia, a 10 minute movie type presentation on a Jewish ceremony, and a few other displays of information. I read most everything in both rooms and watched the presentation and spent approx. 20 minutes in the center. It is good to visit, but does not take much time to experience. i found the history of Jewish history in Segovia to be interesting, yet sad that it is a history of the past. It appeared to me this center is attempting to share that there was a Jewish history and culture in Segovia, but there really is not much to show physically. There is very little, to nothing, to be seen in the center that are Segovia Jewish historical artifacts.

I had assumed from guides and reviews that we would walk through the old Jewish Quarter in about 30 minutes - 3 hours later we had seen a lot and learnt a lot. It's worth printing out a guide from one of the internet sites before you go as without one it seems that there really is not much to see except narrow streets. Jews were expelled from Segovia as from elsewhere in Spain in the 14 hundreds and all that is left are reminders. The starting point on the Juderia Vieja is the Corpus Christi Convent which was originally a synagogue. A little further on is a small Jewish museum which is well worth a visit. A little further on at the Puerto san Andreas it's possible to go up on the city walls (for free) where there are spectacular views to the old Jewish slaughter house (now the wonderful museum of Segovia) and the Alcazar. From the San Andreas gate we walked down the hill and across the road to the old Jewish cemetery. A really fascinating 3 hours.

La Juderia, located in Segovia was once the city of Don Issac Abravanel and Abraham Senior. The streets in La Juderia have brass stepping stones marked with letters indicating that there was once a Jewish presence in the area. To hear the local guides version you might think Jews abandoned the city but that is not the case. Corpus Christi located in the old Jewish quarter has an interesting legend which may have some truth in it but this current church was once a synagogue.
The buildings have interesting facades and the home of Abraham Seneor, who converted during the expulsion still stands. It is now used as a cultural center dedicated to the people who are no longer exist as they once did in Spain.

The old Jewish quarter of Segovia which was vacated about 400-450 years ago. Times have changed - then the Jews were thrown out but, today, the area is named after then! This area is small with just one or two side streets but also some nice restaurants.
