SIRENS S.A.Over 100 years in the port of BarcelonaSirens S.A. is an experienced sailor and proud heritage that for over a hundred years gives those who want the most attractive and intriguing views of Barcelona from a beautiful perspective, the Mediterranean. The company began its journey Swallows in 1888, coinciding with the World Expo in Barcelona, the end of the Rambla and the construction of the monument to Columbus.Swallows have been, since then, an exceptional witness of the dramatic changes experienced by the port and Barcelona in general. The activity began with three swallows calls Omnibus I, II and Omnibus Omnibus III, which ran on steam. They ran from the Portal de la Pau to Barceloneta (Banys de Sant Sebastia).Over the years, the company consolidated and progressively swallows many locals used as a means of transportation to the Baths.During the Civil War, the company was closed. Then he resumed his activity. With the first extension of the port, Las Golondrinas expanded its fleet and route. Was maintained Banys route to Sant Sebastia and started a new to the breakwater. Over the years and the removal of trams "gardener", was also deleted the line bathrooms. The line of the breakwater has lasted until today and has allowed many citizens had their baptism of sea in our boats. After the Olympic Games in 1992, opened a new route: Las Golondrinas harbor and coastline itinerary that allows des seafront view of the sea. To this end a new ships were built, the catamaran type, called Trimar and buses. In 2009 we added a new ship to Las Golondrinas: Antina G.SIRENAS S.A..

This 40 minute boat ride is free with the Barcelona card, I would probably not have paid had I not had the card. There is no commentary but it is a pleasant trip out to the docks where you see the shipping containers being loaded and the docking points for the huge cruise ships with everyone waving. It also goes... More

With a Barcelona card comes a free 40 minute boat tour of the harbor area, a very picturesque area where you view yachts you will never afford and cruise ships you are dying to board. It's a pleasant interlude in Barcelona, and the port area,is full of tourist shopping and an upscale mall. Just be sure to avoid the pickpockets.

I had one last day and Barcelona and was hoping to go out on the water. The company that I was interested in going out with was not available until the afternoon so I booked an earlier trip with this company. The ride was quiet and for 15 euros wasn't that bad but I expected some kind of commentary or... More

As a family of 6 coming to Barcelona and spending thousands in their country you think they would be a little more helpful! I have emailed this company twice, still no reply. We all got a taxi down to the dock because we wanted to go on the jazz cruise, the lady in the ticket booth for las golondrinas said... More

This was a nice break from walking around all day. We took the 40 minute tour and it was relaxing. No headphones or anyone telling you the points of interest but still a nice ride. It just goes around the harbor. You can see all the cruise ships, the freighters and parts of the marina. We like to take harbor... More

We were told that we woud be seeing the city skyline and the beaches. Being new to Barcelona that sounded great. However, they put us on a boat that never left the harbor and all we saw we other boats. It was absolutely one of the worse waste of times I have experienced. I would give them a zero but... More

The boats are located opposite Las Rambla. We chose the 40 minute tour of the port which we thought would be quite interesting and it was okay. There was no commentary, which would have been useful and not too much trouble I would have thought. The main focus seemed to be on the large cruise ships that had docked, as... More

The ticketing booth is right at the end of La Rambla and a ninety minute cruise costs 15 euros, which I found to be quite steep. You do get to enjoy nice views of the Barcelona skyline and I even saw a couple parasailing up in the sky, against a setting sun.

This 40 minute trip around the port area of Barcelona is very interesting. You go past all the large cruise ships, monuments, Clock Tower, bridge, shopping centre and the yacht marina is visible. It is also interesting to see super yachts being built in the area - oh how the rich and famous get their toys!! Although there is no... More

I am travelling alone in Barcelona so I decided on a whim, to take a boat tour with Las Golondrinas. It was €15 for an hour and a half trip. I sat on the upper deck and had an enjoyable time taking in the Barcelona coastline although the sun was blisteringly hot at times and I was panicking like a... More

Staying in El Raval

Neighbourhood Profile
El Raval
Once a downtrodden corner of downtown Barcelona, this gritty area has seen a cultural resurgence boasting an excellent nightlife and one of the most multi ethnic spots in the entire city. A sense of humble authenticity protrudes from the many independent record stores, second hand shops, and student bars that seem to light up the streets day and night. The rocking epicenter, the MACBA Plaça, is a modern day forum for bohemian youth, abuzz with the sights and sounds of late-night gatherings and talented skateboarders showing off their latest tricks.
