Sure the view from up top is cool, but if you're only in Barcelona for a few days there's plenty of other things to do and see.

we stayed at the w hotel, so managed to arrange bikes from our hotel and cycled to the park. It was a splendid experience and the park is hugeeee. Nice place to visit and lovely on a hot summers day and ice cream in your hand

We walked through the park having been to the castle at the top. Even in winter it is still beautiful and peaceful - worth the trip

The park can be reached on foot or by using the funicular railway from Paral-lel Metro station which is an adventure in itself. The views are stunning on a clear day, and there is a lot to see in the park itself - including the 1992 Barcelona Olympics venues.

Eat a hearty breakfast and walk through the gardens up towards the Parc, or take the bus. While the cable cars are quaint, they're a tourist trap rip-off. Views are beautiful but you needn't ride the cable car.

I came across this purely by accident as my city mapper app took me through from the metro hidden and not busy with stunning gardens and views on the way up to the Olympic stadium. Could have stayed in the winters sun for some time as beautiful even my 11 year old son loved the experience.

We walked from Las Ramblas to Montjuic Castle all through the park. It was so pretty and had amazing views all the way up. Didn't go into the castle but walked to Montjuic Fountain after which was incredible! (Took about an hour to get to the castle walking slowly, then about 20/30 mins to get to the fountain)

the view was amazing to the city and port. the downside is that is not enougt information about the castle and history of that time. one hour in the sight is enough i thing. very interstaing..

Great place to workout and also to walk with your friends or couple. Amazing views and many places to sit and enjoy the weather in Barcelona. Even at night it's safe, and offers a great view of the city at night. Highly recommended !

Staying in Montjuic

Neighbourhood Profile
Montjuic
Beyond the four columns standing guard at the Plaça Espanya, beyond even the extravagant and colourful fountains guiding your way up the boulevard, stands the impressive and towering structure of the Palau Nacional, the national museum. At this very spot in front of the cascades of the central fountain, Freddie Mercury and Montserrat Caballe gave the performance of their lifetimes to welcome the 1992 Olympic Games to this magnificent city. And true to its anticipation, the games transformed the city, reimagining the mountain of Montjuic with the development of an arena, stadium, and many other sporting facilities that are open to visitors year-round. Surrounding the adjacent side of the plaza are well-established hotels catering to business guests and a shopping mall transformed out of a historic bullfighting arena.
