The Maritime Museum was excellent, and a real added bonus during our stay in Barcelona. It didn't appear in any guide book.. unless it was only a sentence easily missed! The admission was very reasonable, €5 for adults and I think children went free. Students and elderly visitors went for half price. Admission also covered a small ship in the... More

The museum is located in a great building near the port and contains a small number of maritime related displays and a some full size vessels. Cheap entry and free for under 18s. They are still expanding and changing a number of things but that didn't detract from what was on display. Could do most of this in a 30min... More

We went with our kids, the entrance was 5€ per adult, kids 5 & 7 didn't pay. The main ship was wonderful. The ticket includes the visit of the ship the port. Many interesting things. As well you can have your lunch in the coffetery for 16,50.

The museum is a work in progress but well worth the visit. At 10 euros for 2 adults and a 13 yo it was very reasonable. The scale of the place is incredible - set in a building where ships were built dating to the 1200s. High quality exhibits. A bit of hands on for kids? The path through is... More

Gives you idea how vessels were made and gives you info on the history. Exhibits were also wonderfully done.

Small but good museum. Large ship on display is worth price alone. Kids will love the large impressive ship on display. Easy to do entire museum in 1-2 hours. Great little garden area and cafe attached too.

This ocean museum is truly full of attractions for the entire family. The Spanish history of ship building and usage of boats- ships- canoes- everything that floats, is shown in a very good presentational manner. Even building toy ships is documented. But the best was the photo exhibit of ancient & ethnic ways of fishing, that are still being used... More

The replica of Don Juan's flag ship was excellent as were some other ship displays and picture galleries. However, there was just a feeling that something was missing. The entrance price was fair and there was a senior's discount. If you look up at the great beams, it is not hard to imagine its days as a great shipyard. Yes,... More

The is a huge full size replica of the Royal Flagship of the battle of Lepanto. Anyone into Naval activities or boating would enjoy exhibits

We were full of expectations due to the great reviews, but were a bit disappointed. The price is fair if not very cheap, and some of the ships interesting, as are some of the short films projected on the 'containers' explaining the history of sea transport, maps, piracy and more. But on the whole, not a major revelation.

Staying in El Raval

Neighbourhood Profile
El Raval
Once a downtrodden corner of downtown Barcelona, this gritty area has seen a cultural resurgence boasting an excellent nightlife and one of the most multi ethnic spots in the entire city. A sense of humble authenticity protrudes from the many independent record stores, second hand shops, and student bars that seem to light up the streets day and night. The rocking epicenter, the MACBA Plaça, is a modern day forum for bohemian youth, abuzz with the sights and sounds of late-night gatherings and talented skateboarders showing off their latest tricks.
