The area
Neighbourhood: Eixample
Passing through the glorious Plaça Catalunya, you enter the newer city district of Eixample, literally translated as “extension,” which immediately becomes recognisable by its more spacious streets and elegant atmosphere. The main artery of this sizable district, Passeig de Gracia, is lined with high-end international designer stores. Not to be outdone, the glitz and glamour of this zone is perhaps best exemplified by the comfortable and lavish five-star hotels that flank the divine and modernistic buildings from some of the world’s most recognised architects such as Gaudi and Montaner.

Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

We had high expectations of seeing the play ANDORRA, but it completely disappointed us. The director has not realized that so many screams are not needed throughout the play to hear and understand the text. Please review the play.

Its a cultural landmark offering performances in the local language.
The building itself display a significant Greek influence. Its a fairly new build from the late 20th century.

It’s a superb build, as befits such an institution. Unveiled in 1996 it presents performances mostly in the Catalan language.
Designed by the architect Ricardo Bofill it is a fine cultural landmark.

At 7 p.m. they put up a sign, one A 4 size, folio size, stating that the performance was suspended. This has been all, they have not given us any alternative and the director of the TNC, as we have been told, works office hours. A shame and a lack of education and professionalism on the part of the cast of artists of the work. The spectator cannot and should not be treated like this. We have made a note not to return to the TNC, especially when the artists are the same. We made an effort to buy the tickets and go there today. Very poor communication, fatal behavior of the artists and lack of respect for the spectator who is what maintains the theater and its artists. SHAMEFUL

If you don't want to do a picnic at its front yard, it's better to book for a teatre or music show, in order to get inside.

Walked past on the way to glories and thought it looked interesting. Then found out it was totally fenced off and locked with access cards only , this included the beautiful grounds and pathways. This ensures that the person who is outside cannot get in , nor can you access the public paths and walkways ensuring an entire block has zero access. Pompous rear ends comes to mind. Unfortunately it means walkers have to circle the darn building and block to carry on. Do not want your time .

A building of a sober but beautiful architecture, postmodern-neoclassical style, designed by Ricardo Bofill and inaugurated in 1996. It hosts the National Theatre of Catalonia (TNC), under the Generalitat de Catalunya
