We pre-purchased tickets for 6.50 euros but there is no need as few people were around. It complimented much of what we had been told by guides and locals about the proud history and fierce independence desire of Catalonians. English was included in most descriptions...More

Great value for the money. Some of the pieces in the museum are interactive. You can use your own phone as audio guide with wifi provided on place. One small minus - some parts are only in Catalan and Spanish I wish we had more...More

I went on a Sunday morning - it was nice and quiet, with no crowds at all. I loved the peace as I could take me time to read the explanation of almost every exhibit!

If you are interested in Catalan history, this is the place for you. I spent most of the time reading (in English) the explanations. It is very big and covers centuries. I must admit i got tired in the middle and moved quicker. The special...More

I have been coming to this rooftop for years and, since I work in the tourism industry, I often advise visitors to have a drink there: not any more or unless until the owners change the management. The manager on our last visit, Georgina, created...More

We spent several hours in this history museum on our last full day in Barcelona. The exhibits are extensive, with excellent signage (including in English--contrary to at least one reviewer). The curators have done a good job telling the history of Catalunya from a prehistoric...More

Fascinating collection of artefacts from prehistoric to the recent past. I enjoyed a couple of hours learning a lot in a quiet museum. No crowds and a bonus of a delightful terrace to take a break and have a coffee

My husband and I stumbled upon this museum as we were wandering around one day. The museum was closed that day but the guard told us it would be open and free on Sunday because of the city holiday for their patron Saint. We came...More

This is, I think, the only subversive museum I've ever visited in my life. In it, Spain really gets its comeuppance. I've read that the central government has tried to shut it down. There's a great restaurant on the top floor.
