Was designed by Josep Puig I Cadafalch between 1903 and 1905 (a catalan artchitect who highly influenced the Catalan modernism movement), it is located in the district of Eixample in Barcelona, a popular area know as "Quadrat d'Or". Nowadays it is one of the most emblematic buildings in Barcelona. It is the only Modernista detached house, built in the form of an old medieval castle and its 6 sharp-pointed towers that crown the building gave it the popular name of "Casa de les Punxes" (house of spikes). In 1975 it was declared Historical National Monument. It will be open to the public in 2016.

Beautiful example of Modernista architecture well-displayed on the broad Diagonal avenue with a park in the middle. So good for taking photos. Stroll around this neighborhood which is full of surprises.

This lovely house is worth a visit. A tour through the house reveals the history of St George and the evolution of the building. As you move from room to room the video and audio are brilliant I'm not going to say much about this...More

This house hasn't been open to the public for very long. It is an audio guided tour but it is timed. The first 20 minutes or so are spent learning about Saint George through various videos that are a bit cheesy and drawn out. Then...More

The Casa Terrades "Les Punxes" was advised to us by our receptionist, we were pleasantly suprised by it. The visit is guided by a headphone which works automically, meaning that you don't have to do anything yourself except walking. The way in which the story...More

Hello, thank you so much for your visit and for your comment. Regards,

Gracia literally stands out from the pack. It used to
be an independent town until late into the 19th
century. Though it’s just a short commute away from
the centre, a visit here feels like you’re in a whole
different city. The bohemian vibe has drawn many
international artists to this area, resulting in a
wide selection of galleries, live music and artsy
boutique stores. The nightlife is centered around the
