My wife and I did the 3 hour tour but wish we had time for the 6 hour one. Laurie took us to various neighborhoods and streets I'm sure we would have never found on our own, while also helping us frame shots we could have never imagined. I'll definitely seek his services again when I'm back in Barcelona!

It's my time ever in a European country and I'm so glad to have taken this tour with Laurie. Not alone does he know all the ins and outs of Barcelona, he is an astounding photographer as well! I had booked a 5 hr tour and it was worth every penny. Laurie showed me the majority of Barcelona within this time frame plus little gems of historical facts behind each part of Barcelona. I can say that my stay at Barcelona for that one week wouldn't be as special if I haven't taken this guidance tour with Laurie Cohen. Definitely worth it!

I did two tours with Laurie. One 6 hour in the evening and night on my first day then a morning one later in the week. Both were fantastic. I learned a great deal about street shooting along with some new techniques. Laurie certainly knows his city and will take you to the best (but not cliche) spots. You will come away with new knowledge, some great shots and probably a new friend. Thank you Laurie.

Many thanks for your kind words. Likewise, I really enjoyed wandering around the city with you and your camera! Am glad you also found my critiquing of your images after the tour of help. Hope to see you both again some sunny day.. Best wishes from Barcelona!

It was our first evening in Barcelona and we (based on the recommendations on this forum) decided to go along with Laurie and get a photographic introduction to Barcelona. Laurie was an inspiration ! It was technical advice, developing a photographer's eye and getting an insider's view of Barcelona all rolled into one. I wish we had more time in Barcelona to take another trip with him. Highly recommended for anyone who wants to do and see more in less time !

My family I spent eight memorable days in Barcelona this Christmas. The day I took the photo walk was the best of all.
Imagine if you can, a friend who offered to show you his town and just happens to be an expert photographer. As you walk, he suggests shooting from different angles , suggests a different shutter speed to convey motion and give various tips along the way. Finishing up, you realize you saw a great city from a different perspective and learned a lot about photography along the way. That was my experience with Barcelona Photography Tours
My photo tour with Laurie Cohen was superb. We started by him asking me what kind of photos I wanted to shoot (architecture) and then he tailored the tour to my wishes. We saw some great sites, the Barcelona Cathedral for example but we also walked through some side streets and alley ways that gave me some great photos.
I consider myself an advanced beginner but I think the weekend photographer with a point and shoot to the advanced photographer with a commercial camera will benefit from the photo tour. They will also enjoy Barcelona more !

After reading several other good reviews about the photo tours with Laurie Cohen, I signed my girlfriend up for a 6 hour workshop in Barcelona. I ended up joining them on the tour and it was a perfect day. Going to all the best photo spots in the city with a professional photographer was a great experience. Laurie has a good eye for helping you get that 'perfect shot' for your album and excellent knowledge of photography. The whole tour was great fun and we can't wait to do it again. Highly recommended!

Thanks to the other positive reviews here on Trip Advisor, I decided to give Barcelona Photography Tours a try.
My cruise ship disembarked in Barcelona after embarking in Venice nine days earlier. I was nervous at first because I was traveling alone and had never been to Barcelona before, but Laurie Cohen was very professional, attentive, and really comfortable to be around that I forgot that we were strangers after about 2 minutes! I felt like I was hanging out with my own brother so Laurie was a lot of fun to photowalk with around Barcelona. He knows his city well and he knows photography even better!!
I've never had the opportunity to photowalk with a true professional photographer before.....at least not one who was patient enough to just teach me. I learned quite a bit during his tour, with the major thing being that I need to have patience while I'm out shooting to get the shots that I want, rather than feel like I'm rushing against the clock to get all the shots I can before my vacation ended.
I feel like I went from being a casual picture snapper to someone who can now decide what it is I want to shoot, how I want the photo to look, making sure I take the time to get the results I want, and just stay in the moment of it all. Seems like the rest of my vacation tours and ship excursions were all so rushed and on the surface, but with his tour we just took our time and finished our mission. It was so nice to slow down and focus on my photography! I feel like I can now enjoy my own photography if I just take my time, and I plan to do just that the next time I go out with my camera, which will probably be tomorrow.
A couple of other things I wanted to mention:
1) While we were out at La Ramblas, he had no problem just setting up his tripod in the middle of this constantly moving crowd of people for me to take my photos. I never would have done that on my own in Barcelona, or even in my own city. I was overwhelmed with all of the activity of the area. Street photography, while I enjoy looking at it, is something I am really uncomfortable actually doing. It is just way out of my comfort zone being in the center of a crowd like that and trying to take pictures seems like it would be impossible. Plus you never know what type of reaction you'll get from others during street photography (like with that skullface dude). But thanks to Laurie, we just went about our business and got the shots!! I was able to tune out the crowd activity eventually.
And as much as I love night photography, I never do it on my own here in the Washington DC area, for my own safety. But again, being able to have Laurie's company, knowledge, experience and expertise was the best thing I could have asked for with his tour!
2) If I had to do it over again, I would have been in Barcelona and on Laurie's photography tour at the BEGINNING of my trip instead of at the end. When I compare the pictures I took before I arrived in Barcelona, versus the photos I took after hanging out with and learning from Laurie, I can see the difference myself.
I have learned to see differently, thanks to Laurie.
Thanks for everything, Laurie Cohen!

As a photography student from the states I was looking to get good shots of the city. I've found this impossible on conventional city tours that show you only the most touristy locations at a frantic pace. What better way to photograph the city than with a local professional photographer. Laurie shared the best locations, best lighting and photography tips. Exactly what I was looking for!

I had never been to Europe before, and was thinking of a regular tour with hopes of getting some good photos. Then it occurred to me to check for a photo tour. I can't be more pleased with Laurie and the information/insights he provided. He was very clear in relaying useful information and helping me get past some of my awkwardness with street photography. He also provided some very good insights into the history of Barcelona. All in all, Excellent!

We were so fortunate to be able to make this tour. When we first contacted Laurie he was not available on any of the days of our stay in Barcelona. Luckily, when we were already on the way to Spain, his schedule changed so we could eventually fulfill our plan on a beautiful Sunday morning. The photo adventure started right by our hotel, from where we proceeded to visit a bunch of intriguing places that a run-of-the-mill tourist would probably never go to. The walk was both eye-opening and inspiring. We hope that the creative spark it ignited will find its way into all the photos we will be taking in the future!
PS. Laurie does also similar tours in Israel -- if we ever visit there, a photo treat with him would top the list of things to do.

Hi you guys! The Bording School I work at, has planned to visit Barcelona 3-7th of october. And we were wondering if you have the time for a private tour? We are about 8-10 people, and mostly teenagers, who love photography!
Thank you :)

Hi! I'm gonna be in Barcelona on Jun18-19. I'm an amateur in photography, but i'd love to have a small photo tour over the city. This is my first time in the city and it would be really great not to get into big crowds of tourists and to have a morning or evening tour - within the golden hour. Could you please advise if this is possible.. Thank you in advance!!!

#1-I don't know your business e-mail address; #2-We originally discussed a 6 hour (your terms) and that would leave us photographing in the dark at 9:00PM...any chance of going earlier in the day? and #3-I tried to ask this yesterday, it said I could only ask one question daily...why? Thanks! Harold Troy

I'm definitely interested. It looks like Sunday 1 May 2016 would be the best day for me. I am staying at the NH Barcelona Centro. Please let me know if that date is available and what the next steps are. Also could the guide give me a tentative schedule and recommendation for equipment to bring. Thanks! Harold Troy

We will arrive in Barcelona on Friday 29 April 2016 at the end of a re-positioning cruise. I would like to take a six hour private photo tour with Nico (based on what I've read in your reviews) on either Sat or Sun 30 April or 1 May 2016. I am an Architect and when I was in college I didn't have much use for Gaudi UNTIL I had the opportunity to experience La Sagrada Familia the last time I was in Barcelona and was "blown away" by the experience. Since that time I vowed that I would return and spend a day photographing the interior of the facility. To that end I would like to spend as much time doing just that (at lease four hours). Would that be possible and what would be the cost for such an opportunity? I anxiously await your reply. Thanks! HET

Dear Harold,
Thank you for your interest in Barcelona Photography Tours and for getting in contact.
Yes, we would be delighted to accommodate you. April is our busiest month, so booking ahead is recommended. Nicolas is currently available, as is Lorenzo - our architectural photographer. Both are talented photographers and exceptional guides.
The Sagrada Familia is one of the most amazing architectural structures in the world, and is definately worth exploring, though I think 3 hours would be sufficient for this one building. We can organize "skip the queue tickets" on request. It is recommended to visit in the afternoon to shoot the outside at the Passion Facade. The warm light hits it at the right angle. I would also recommend the optional ride up the lift to shoot down and capture the amazing details of the towers. Finally, towards the end of the tour (sunlight permitting), the sun entering through the stained glass is exceptional.
3 hours at this building would also allow time to visit the nearby Hospital de San Pau (built by Dominich I Muntaner), one of the most beautiful Modernist buildings in Spain. Barcelona has 9 World Heritage Sites (the most in Europe). As I am sure you are aware, 1 or 2 days is not enough to capture the city, however I would recommend shooting 3 sites in a 6 hour tour.
The price of our 6 hour itineraries is 300.00 Euros for a private tour. The cost does not include entrance fees for our guests or the guide. Itineraries can be customized to your shooting style, preferred subjects and skill level.
Please feel free to get in contact through our website for further information.
We look forward to hearing from you! Best wishes,
Laurie

Hi,
I would like to have more information about the course. My mom and sister are in Barcelona until 22/03 and I would like to give my sister a present and I believe that the photography tour is a good one.
How long does it takes? Do they need to walk too much? Because my mom has a bad knee and cannot walk long distances.
Also, I would like to know about the price.
Kind regards,
Cibele
