Neighbourhood: Barrio Gòtico (Barri Gòtic)
With its iconic, old-Europe streets and alleys, this picturesque neighbourhood is the very heart of Barcelona. It blends historic artifacts from its days under Roman dominion up through the Spanish Civil War with a vibrant modern-day culture of artisan shops and authentic culinary experiences. Avid explorers will be thrilled to discover quaint terraces and plazas brought to life by the many small bars and local musicians lasting late into the night. Fashionistas will be drawn to Portal de L’Angel, which is lined with well-known brand names and smaller boutique stands.

Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

This is the main street of the Born neighborhood, fairly open with lots of trees. And also lots of places to eat and drink, and some shops. Fun place to take a stroll and look for a place to have dinner.

The main street of the Born neighborhood, it is the widest street here so it houses cafes and restaurants, plus some nice landscaping. Quite charming, but not very long.

This is where we stayed this trip. Amazing neighborhood with lots of dinning choices and a great vibe.
Everyone we met, interacted with and talked to was very friendly and helpful when asking about their neighborhood.
Hoffman’s Pastry shop was literally downstairs, across the street was the Craft Bunker Bcn for a great selection of Spanish Beers…
Close to the beach, and a must visit at the CCM museum.
The Ramblas was a short 15 minute walk.

If you are a couple or group of friends and looking for a place to hang out in BCN night time this is a good place to start. People hang out with beers on the street here eventually going in to one of the many bars along the sides to get another cup of take away wine, beer or cocktails. It can get really crowded so if you want to visit a specific bar you might need to wait in line for a bit. Curfew was just lifted the weekend we were there 15-18th october, so now everything gets to be open as normal. Highly recommend to try BCN nightlife.

We weren't planning to walk through here but had some free time one day and ended up spending many hours visiting all of the little shops, markets, and cafes. What a cool place to visit. It's on our list of re-visits when we go back to Barcelona.

The trendy El Borj barrios is my favorite district when we visited Barcelona deep in the Gothic Quarter. It has the perfect balance of being authentic and yet still very hip. Locals mingling with tourists. So much too see, do and of course food and drinks.

The Passeig del Born is a thoroughfare in the Gothic Quarter of Barcelona which links the church of Santa Maria del Mar to the west and Born Market to the east. It's a tree lined and largely pedestrianised street with a very medieval feel due to the mostly cobbled stone and gothic fee. It also has a history that dates back to medieval times when it was used as a jousting field which is where the name of the street comes from.

Very atmospheric street with lots of trendy bars and cafes, and a happening nightlife.

Wondered around that cute little area in the heart of the Gothic Quarters. We really enjoyed all the cute little shops and bistros all around, as well as the beautiful architectural design of the buildings.
