About
Uncovering the Past, Present and Future of the Cannabis PlantThe Hemp Museum Gallery is located in the centre of Barcelona in the Palau Mornau, a stunning edifice built in the 15th century, which was remodeled by modernist architect Raspall in 1908. It offers a unique permanent exhibition, on the development of the cannabis plant as a versatile source for industrial, nutritional, medicinal, sacramental and recreational purposes. The collection consists of rare items that founder Ben Dronkers, over the past forty years, collected throughout the world. The museum focuses on modern citizens, who despite repressive government measures, are not deterred, to gain knowledge about this particular plant independently.

First of all, there i so many information! If you want to listen everything, to see every exhibit, reserve at least three hours. The interior is splendid, it;s up to you which way you want to visit. In summary, it's definitely worth to go there.

On one hand, there is Reefer Madness. On the other hand, there is Cheech & Chong. Between and including those perspectives is this museum, which does a great job of presenting a lot of information soberly.

Be sure to take the time to notice the building, which is 600 years old!

Informative and insightful.

If using the audio guide via a smartphone/QR code, it can be a bit confusing identifying what items you're looking at or supposed to be in - they weren't clearly numbered and so I found myself spinning in circles a couple times.

Really interesting though and as coffee shops have opened up in town, always good to get a little context.

If you have an hour spare, worth a visit.

This museum is awesome!! Hyper informative, playful and very well documented, it mixes different cultural approaches, eras and history of hemp in its most varied uses and the objects gathered for this exhibition are as rich as beautiful, diverse and varied. The Award of admission seems paltry considering all this and besides, the building is lavish.

I had planned everything that I wanted to see in Barcelona but this wasn't on my list of things to do. We didn't know about this place until we got to Barcelona and saw a leaflet about it in our hotel. I was a bit worried that we might get fed up with all of the Gaudi stuff that I had planned to see so we decided to do a detour to visit this place as it was only about 10 minutes walk from the Picasso Museum. We had been to the Cannabis Museum in Amsterdam so decided to see what this was like.

There is a small collection of posters downstairs that you can visit for free. If you want to go upstairs to see the main collection there is a charge.

The museum itself is in an amazingly beautiful building which is worth a visit regardless of whether you are interested in the museum or not. There is an amazing stained glass window above the staircase, so make sure you look up! Also the stained glass window at the front that has been made especially for the museum is stunning from the inside when the light shines through. And it is in keeping with the style of the building so doesn't look out of place.

The museum itself had a very interesting collection in it. You get given a booklet and wander around being able to read all about the exhibits. It was very informative. And the ladies toilets were the cleanest ones that I visited in Barcelona!

It was very nice to see. It has very good information and quality information about the hemp. The museum is presenting facts about how the people in the history were using the fibers of hemp to make inventions, quality and useful things and every picture, wall or object has a story to say. It's a must see in Barcelona!
