Delicious and so fun!!! I am embarrassed that it has taken me so long to write this post as our group had such an amazing time on our food tour with Aborigens in Barcelona! Our group is still raving about our Food Tour experience with Francesc! From the booking process with Alex to the final bite and cocktail with Francesc, everything was perfect! I would highly recommend this tour to anyone visiting Barcelona, even if you have been to the city before. Being a group of 8, Alex and Francesc put together a custom... More

Being myself a picky eater I'm always a difficult guest and a real challenge for any tour guide. And this guys succeded by far. I got to know what Barcelonians eat and their way of enjoying food (and life) with a knowledgeable local guide. Alex offered many seasonal specialties at 5 different spots I would have never found by myself.... More

We booked the evening tour based based on TripAdvisor reviews and the company's website, which advertised that the tour was mainly a beer and food tour. The price was much more than other tours, but it sounded so great, we booked. BIG mistake. We have taken dozens of food tours in Europe, and this was the worst one we have... More

We did a morning walking tour of food markets in Barcelona, seeing all the fresh produce, fish, meat, flowers, etc. We didn't visit the touristy LaBoqueria but rather other markets that were not so crowded. Along the way, we were given many samples of food: different preparations of pork sausage, Bacalla, cheese, chocolate, Vermouth & appetizers in a small Bodega,... More

As you mention we encourage our guests to visit La Boqueria by themselves to get their own judgement. We are very proud to promote other areas and venues which keep a traditional identity, such as markets, shops, bars, taverns, restaurants. Catalan gastronomy by locals, that's what we do and we are glad you appreciated our choices. Salut! Àlex D. More

I thoroughly enjoyed my evening on a small group tapas tour with Alex. Alex contacted us ahead of the tour to determine individual's preferences. Alex also very kindly offered to answer questions after our food tour, and, as promised, he followed up with recommendations for additional activities in both Barcelona and in neighboring towns.

What an evening! Cesc picked us up at our hotel and after reconfirming our preferences (I exchanged several mails with Alex before) he took us to about 6 or 7 different places in the following 6 hours… We started with a beer tasting in a craft brewery, went on to a Vermoutheria (I did not even knot that such a... Read so many great reviews before, but you don't get an idea about the deep foodie experience until you meet these guys. Cesca was great tour guide and Alex R so fast with booking assistance. A 10+ for aborigens local food insiders.

Moltes gràcies! This is so flattering and although we have our own opinion (and not always positive) about some places Anthony Bourdain has visited in Barcelona and Catalonia, it's always great to be related to him. Salut! Àlex D. More

Our group of six spent an unforgettable evening with Alex. He was the perfect guide/host -- very friendly, funny, charming and so knowledgeable about Barcelona, its culture and food scene. Neighbourhood Profile
Eixample
Passing through the glorious Plaça Catalunya, you enter the newer city district of Eixample, literally translated as “extension,” which immediately becomes recognisable by its more spacious streets and elegant atmosphere. The main artery of this sizable district, Passeig de Gracia, is lined with high-end international designer stores. Not to be outdone, the glitz and glamour of this zone is perhaps best exemplified by the comfortable and lavish five-star hotels that flank the divine and modernistic buildings from some of the world’s most recognised architects such as Gaudi and Montaner.
