Neighbourhood: Barrio Gòtico (Barri Gòtic)
With its iconic, old-Europe streets and alleys, this picturesque neighbourhood is the very heart of Barcelona. It blends historic artifacts from its days under Roman dominion up through the Spanish Civil War with a vibrant modern-day culture of artisan shops and authentic culinary experiences. Avid explorers will be thrilled to discover quaint terraces and plazas brought to life by the many small bars and local musicians lasting late into the night. Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

Beautiful building, a nice easy stop. Well worth a visit here. You could spend hours here if you really stop to look at everything our you can knock this stop out in less than an hour depending on how interested you are in the art work.

The first church was constructed in the 13th century, and the present structure was built between 1765 and 1775 in Baroque style. It was heavily damaged in 1936 during the Spanish Civil War, and it was restored in 1939.

When I visited, nobody else was in the church, so I could enjoy it fully, helped by the organ music being played in the background.

It is just a few hundred meters opposite the Maremagnum shopping mall. Can take a stroll there if you have time to kill.
But definitely not worth to plan for a special visit if you are not near its vicinity.

Discovered the Basilica on a short walk in search of an outdoor cafe for a quick breakfast. Found both on a plaza a block from my hotel. The Basilica is peaceful, ornate, in very good condition, pretty much overlooked compared to Barcelona's more famous churches and cathedrals -- but maybe because of that, worth a visit.

This church is very easy to access, since most tourists visit La Rambla & if is only a few blocks from the street. It is a beautiful. lovely church and sometimes forgotten since the Cathedral is so popular.

Pleasant little square with the church as a backdrop ,The church is tucked into a small area and can be easily walked past without noticing but its worth a look ,the statue can be seen from all around at the southern end of the Barri Gotic

The Basilica of Our Lady of Mercy (Catalan: Basílica de la Mercè, Spanish: Basílica de la Merced) is a Baroque-style basilica in Barcelona, Catalonia. It was built between 1765 and 1775, being the work of Catalan architect Josep Mas i Dordal. The dome of the church is crowned with the iconic statue of Our Lady that is visible from the seaside promenade .This place is just amazing . A bit hiden and it is easy to overlook this precious jewel in the center of Barcelona. True Barcelona spirit.

Tucked into a quiet little square, this church is a sleeper. 18th century Baroque style church. The dome is adorned with a statue of Our Lady that can be seen from the port.

Went here on the way back to the ship, this is in the gothic quarter and is easy to miss as we nearly walked past but we'll worth a visit.

Basilica of Our Lady of Mercy is quite a nice church. It dates to the 18th century and its distinctive Baroque style architecture is quite evident and beautiful. It offers some lovely features and is worth a visit if you happen to be passing by.
