If you want a quality, interesting, and personable experience, this is the Food Tour for you! The Farm to Table experience with Barcelona Slow Travel was AMAZING! Meeting with local farmers and picking our produce for our meal was the real deal. The farmers were welcoming and genuinely excited to share their farming experience. They then provided the best light breakfast of wine, cheese, and bread. Our guide Guillermo worked tirelessly to ensure our conversation and questions were understood and explained… He seemed to anticipate all our needs, from the “farm hats “ in the fields to interpreting the entire day, so all parties understood and helped the conversation flow. The meal using our bounty from the farm was expertly prepared by our chef Christain, at his home/restaurant. We assisted in the preparation, and instantly felt at home and welcome. Amazing meal, Amazing farm visit and Amazing guide!, Certainly something for 4 Americans to remember!

Such a wonderful day! Marta picked us up from our apartment right on time and took us to two lovely family owned vineyards. The owners were friendly and welcoming and spent time really explaining and sharing their wines. Lunch in the sunshine overlooking the vineyards with wonderful hosts was magical. We wanted to spend the day sharing in the culture of the region and did just that! Many thanks to Guillermo and Marta for making the magic happen!

Perfect day. Guillermo was friendly and delightful. Picked us up from hotel. Drove to organic farm and met with two farmers to explore their organic farming methods. Then farmer Isidro came out with assorted cured meats and cheese with local wine for breakfast in the meadow. Then drove to
Ase of mountain where
Frederic met us in Land Rover to drive us up steep dirt road to his restored 17th century farm house. Together we cooked amazing chicken stew, gazpacho and cataloña crème brûlée. We even loved his dog Cosmo. Could not

We took a biking wine tour with Barcelona Slow Travel in July 2018. While it's been a few years, I realized I had never left a review. My husband and I still talk about how great this tour was. It was so well-planned, the biking was fun and the countryside beautiful. The guide was knowledgeable, the price was right. They also provided a delicious lunch!

Although we signed up for the group tour, we were the only ones on the trip. We really appreciated that they didn't cancel due to low numbers, which other companies do. Thank you so much, Barcelona Slow Travel, for a wonderful experience!

Our Penedes wine tour will be one of my most favorite memories of our time in Spain-it was truly magical and unforgettable. Working/Communicating with Guillermo was a breeze. He was so kind and professional from the start of my inquiry to the very last goodbye we had. I came across Barcelona Slow Travel via Trip Advisor and read all the raving reviews and decided to reach out. I have always loved Spanish wines and knowing that our trip to Spain was coming up, I wanted to see if there were any companies that offered guided/private tours as this was one main thing that I always have dreamed of doing when in Spain. I am so happy to have found Guillermo and Barcelona Slow Travel. It was an easy process of booking and creating our customized tour for my boyfriend and I. Guillermo picked us up from our hotel that morning and we made the trip to two of the most incredible vineyards/wineries.

He chose for us so perfectly and our memories from our private, all day one on one with two separate winemakers learning about their land, family, history and then having the honor of having lunch not only with one of the winemakers but he made it for us along with one dish with mushrooms from his land he picked that morning! Sitting on his beautiful property with the rolling landscape behind you-can you even get better than that! What a humble, kind and lovely soul we had the pleasure of getting to know and spend time with. The wines were absolutely superb (I had no doubt) and to be able to purchase directly from them was amazing-I only wish we were more prepared to be able to take cases home with us-but we know this for our next visit.

I can only praise our experience as it was perfection. If you are looking for an experience you will forever remember, enjoying wonderful company, laughing and drinking some of the best wine in the world, you have undoubtedly come to the right place. There should be no hesitation in booking with Barcelona Slow Travel. You are in the best hands.

Thank you Guillermo for all that you did for us-the memories created during the day with you and our new friends will never be forgotten.

Until next time!

The highlight of our Barcelona trip was the Morning Market Tour with Guillermo. It was so much fun to experience the market with a local that could explain the different foods and answer any questions while we sampled. Following the market, we walked to a small bodega and had tapas and wine. We then spent some time going through local shops and tasting iberian ham and olive oil before ending with a spectacular lunch at Gatblau. Guillermo ordered a variety of local favorites that highlighted traditional Catalan preparations with a unique twist. My mom has celiac disease and Guillermo made sure we knew if every item had gluten or not and he adjusted the tour to increase the number of items my mom could safely eat. We went into the day knowing she may not be able to sample everything but it was a wonderful surprise to find that he had made such an effort to accommodate her. We learned so much about Catalan culture and food and ended the experience very well fed!

Everything we had was absolutely delicious and we all really enjoyed our time and conversation with Guillermo. We were only in Barcelona for a few days but we hope to return in the future and will definitely book another tour with Barcelona Slow Travel!

We booked a number of tours with Barcelona Slow Travel - including a markets tour, a trip to Montserrat that included stops at a winery and olive oil farm, and a Hidden Gaudi tour. We even made New Years Eve Dinner with Guillermo and Christina. Guillermo, Christina and Macarena were all lovely, informative, fun and really shared their Barcelona with us. We came away from our week with a much greater appreciation for Barcelona than we would have gotten on our own, and we would highly recommend working with them whatever your needs are in Barcelona. Every experience was exactly as advertised and better than expected!!!

On New Year’s Day, our family (of 2 adults and two teens) was picked up right at our hotel by a lovely couple, Guillermo and Christina. We visited some local organic farms, where we met the kindest, most knowledgeable farm owners and harvested our own produce and eggs, which we later used to make a scrumptious dinner! This experience was first class all the way, hands down the best part of our visit to Barcelona, and worth doing again should we return!

No need to look further than BST when planning a trip to Barcelona. The Penedes Wine Tour and cooking class exceeded all expectations. The pace was perfect, and the experience was enhanced by the hospitality of the vineyard owners. It was the most memorable day of our trip. How lucky we were to have booked a second trip to Girona and the Costa Brava. Guillermo emailed me frequently in the weeks before the trip, and his careful research resulted in a trip perfectly tailored to our family's interests. The highlights were our visit to a cycling cafe, a few GOT sites, a fantastic eco-restaurant and an end-of-the-day swim at the Costa Brava. I recommend reading through all of the blogs and recommendations on the website--we ate at a few of the recommended restaurants and they were wonderful.

Highlight of our month in Europe and a wonderful way to complete our trip. If we had more time left on our trip I would definitely book in for the cooking class.

We visited two wineries and it was great to spend time unhurried allowing time to have great conversations with a winemaker Pepe and Marta from the second winery after lunch.

We almost didn’t make the tour as I booked a babysitter for our toddler on the wrong day. I emailed Guillermo to inform we couldn’t take the tour at short notice & Guillermo came up with the solution of Christina being our babysitter so we didn’t miss this experience. We are so grateful!!! And my daughter had her first swim in the Mediterranean with Christina. I wanted to add this to my review so anyone reading this can appreciate they are very nice people who go above and beyond to ensure you have a great experience and memories.

Guillermo - we enjoyed everything about the tour you prepared for us, your conversation and all that you shared with us about your personal values regarding food, sustainable living, farm to table and general outlook. Thank you for an incredible day. We genuinely hope to see you again when we find ourselves back in this region. All the very best to you and Christina. And please keep me posted if you create a cookbook as we’d love to purchase it.
