Small Local Market
Jan 2020 • Solo
Located in the new part of Girona, just steps from the Onyar Riverbis this local market. It’s been here for about 75 years. It isn’t a particularly big market, but it does sell the usual items - fresh fish, meats, poultry, fruits, cheeses and vegetables. When I was there about 1/3 of the vendors were closed. There is a cafe located inside. Worth a quick look if you’re in the area.

Worth a visit. There is a good choice of local product such as fish, meat, veggies... It is an indoor market so you can escape the heat at the same time as doing your food shopping

Local Market
Jul 2019 • Solo
Mercat del Lleo is a small traditional indoor market in Girona. It's a bit out of the way from the old town city centre, as well as the main attractions in the city. Thought I'd stop by to see if there was any interesting local produce. There's a good range of fresh fruits and veg, baked goods, quick bites. Even vegetarians would be able to find something decent food to eat.

Nice market and feels more authentic that one aimed at tourists, but I wouldn't go out of the way though.

A great little market to check out the local produce. People are friendly and welcoming. Forget the touristy stuff on the other side of the river; this is the real Girona.

Not the biggest

A great market , with a good choice of local food. The bread choice fantastic , the cheese not so. Smaller than other markets we have been to , Malaga, Valencia , Bilbao but still worth a quick visit if you happen to be nearby. Don’t make a special trip.

It's one of the city markets, but may be one of the best to do photos, it's definetly not the cheapest one.

What an excellent clean market with so much fresh produce. The fruit and vegetables were all fresh. You can also buy meats cheeses spices and seafood from several vendors. There was even some vendors set up outside the markets. They do close at 2pm.

When I' m in the city I allways visit the market, they sell very good meat, chees etc...and all comes from the little villages around. On the outside you cam buy fruit and vegetables. I think that if you are there you should visit it.
There' s a parking place under the market and in 3/5 min walking you' are in the old city....the Rambla, the Jewish quarter, the cathedral. I hope you enjoy it if you go there.
