Book with Sasha from Amigo tours and you won't be disappointed! She was amazing, so passionate and full of knowledge. Well worth getting up early for this tour, Book through City Discovery if you can't find Amigo Tours... Honestly. I think it was the most beautiful sight I have ever seen. The monestary was beautiful and stunning. The whole place... More

If your in Barcelona you MUST visit this monastery. Catch the first train to beat the crowds trust me it's worth it! There are signs in the train station where you can also purchase the tickets. Your can explore the surrounding area for hours. I hiked up the mountain to the ruins of a monastery from the 14th century. The... More

Visiting this monastery is a must when holidaying in Barcelona. I would recommend to travel by train instead of an organised group so that you can spend the maximum time on your own pace in each location of the mountain. First you arrive to the beautiful monastery. The mass is daily from 10.30am until 12pm. Before or after this time... More

Beautiful place an hour away by train from Barcelona city centre. Worth a visit if you are interested in mountains and religious places. There are restaurants serving good varieties of food. Don't forget to attend the kids singing performance at 01:00 pm.

I travelled here solo, easy to do and worth the views. Do yourself a favour and get the earliest train- around 8am. Worth it to beat the cues. Placa de Espanya- ticket station is there (no need to buy too far in advance). Get the €29.50 ticket including the funiculars (little tram-like carts) and cable car. If you do this... More

Montserrat was one of our day trips from Barcelona, and we enjoyed the trip by train, which took just one hour or so. As soon as we arrived, we were treated to spectacular views of the serrated mountains. The cable car ride going up is an adventure by itself (I won't spoil it for you). And when you arrive at... We decided to visit this place at the very last day, we did not have much time. However, we managed to cover as much as possible in a span of 1hr 30mins. Tips: Leave early, Take the cable car to the top as it will give you a good view. if with family , pack some sandwiches as the queue... More

The location of the monastery in the mountains around Montserrat is a magnificent setting for this beautiful building. The courtyard of the monastery is breathtaking and entering the doors, you are welcomed to a delight to the eyes. It's a stunning interior and well worth some time exploring. Make sure you also explore the hiking trails in the area as... More
