Remarkable Collection & Very Well Scripted Tour - Bravo!

Knowing the beauty of Barcelona's hidden architecture, I remember the many unrenovated apartments in the city in the days before the euro. Stunning stairwells with detailed... read more

You get one (quite pricey) ticket for Museu Maricel and Museu Cau Ferrat so they shouldn't really have separate entries. This refurbished museum is going for European museum of the year. I'm afraid it won't win - it's far short of the superb CosmoCaixa in Barcelona (a previous winner) at more than twice the price. The main problem for us... More

Knowing the beauty of Barcelona's hidden architecture, I remember the many unrenovated apartments in the city in the days before the euro. Stunning stairwells with detailed ironwork, brass and carved wood: the most incredible having been converted to boutique hotels. And surely many pieces mistaken for junk to be found in Els Encants. For both experts and the uninitiated the... More

This is a little gem. We stumbled in here to cool off as the palace was closed, and spent the afternoon admiring mideval armory and fantastic ceramics.

This museum, which is actually 3 museums in 1 building is a hidden gem in Sitges! Having visited 2 museums in Barcelona we didn't expect it to he quite as good; it was! Spent a really enjoyable and informative 2 hours pottering around, looking at the fabulous art, sculpture, furniture in a really relaxed and wonderfully air conditioned environment! It... More

This Museum houses so many wonderful little treasures and extremely impressive art pieces. What I loved about this museum is that it was once the apartments of Charles Deering, now housing an extensive collection of Catalan artifacts and art.

This deals with the artist Santiago Rusiñol and his friends and circle - there are even three images by the teenage Picasso who must have visited when he was at the art school in Barcelona. The completion of the museum has been delayed for several years by financial turmoil in Spain but now that it's complete, it's a model of... More

If you ever wondered how it would be to live in Sitges in the 19th century, you should visit Museu Maricel. A fantastic opportunity to learn more about local art and styles.

We did this on a rainy day. It was interesting and good value for money. There is lots to look at and plenty of history to get immersed in

We spent a couple of hours to see the place, nice and very friendly. We discovered an artist and his collections, time well spent!

A beautiful restoration that highlights a very eclectic art collection. There is a surprise around every corner. We spent a thoroughly delightful visit here after a seaside lunch. This is a relaxing day trip just a short train ride from Barcelona.
