We offer personal food & wine experiences in Santiago de Compostela. Consider us some sort of personal food guides: we help you discover and enjoy the gastronomy of the Iberian Paeninsula, either taking you on a tapas tour, or through a fresh produce market, or getting down to work in a cooking class.

Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.

We met Anna at our hotel and she gave us a good overall view of Santiago de Compestela. We had an entertaining drink in a local bar with special tasty eats. Followed by a visit to the bustling market where we were given some delicious local fish dishes and then we finished in an upmarket restaurant near the cathedral centre. A very agreeable tour around with much to talk about and to eat

My daughter and I enjoyed a cooking class with Jorge and Anna in the Santiago Mercado de Asbastos. Among their many talents, Anna is a chef and Jorge is a food writer. The class began with selecting ingredients in the market, and learning about the purveyors of the items and the history of the market. The class is in an excellent kitchen within the market with space to sit down at a separate table to enjoy the meal. This is a hands on class, where the students do the preparation and cooking, as well as enjoying the fruits of our labors. Anna and Jorge were patient explaining techniques and sharing Galician traditions and culture throughout the class. They easily accommodated my daughter's vegetarian diet in planning the class, and invited the rest of our family to join the meal. We loved our experience and highly recommend the KilomEATers cooking class.

While the itinerary was prepared by a local tour company, Anna and Jorge provided such great insight into the regional food and wine and foodie activities. We had such a variety of food experiences: from degustation menus at Michelin starred restaurants, tapas meals, and rural dinners to bread and cheese and meats from the local supermarkets. Anna and Jorge were great to travel with; they were organised, yet flexible and made the trip so interesting and enjoyable. It really was sad to say farewell!

107 kilometres of walking the most beautiful of the trails of the Camino del Norte, Camino Frances and Camino Primitivo. At the end of each day a superb dinner - sometimes rustic, sometimes Michelin starred but always authentic for the regions we walked through. Our guides Anna and Jorge proved to be worth their weight in gold- great regional knowledge both if history and food and local culture. We experienced something quite unique and non touristy. Just the best holiday experience of my life.

Anna was our guide for the "Ultimate Santiago Food Experience". She took us to a part of the Old Town which is less frequented. A variety of delicious dishes awaited us and wine was plentiful. Jorge joined us in the last little hide away for our final tasting. Anna's food tour is a great way to sample the particular food of Galicia. On the same trip, but in the city of A Coruna, we enjoyed another food experience with Anna and this time, Jorge, joined us for the evening. It was a Seafood Tour, in A Coruna's Old Town, where we devoured razor clams, octopus, mussels, oysters, etc. some done in the Galician style and some in other ways -- with wine included at each place. Both tours exceeded our expectations. Anna and Jorge are thoughtful, considerate hosts who try to tailor the experience to their guests likes and needs.

We were joined by Anna on fantastic lunchtime tour of Santiago's best, off the radar restaurants.
Visiting places we'd never have found on our own she shared her extensive local knowledge and recommendations - the best pulpo, patatas bravas, tuna, clams - it was a most enjoyable three hours with plenty of laughter. We went back to a couple of restaurants during the rest of our stay to sample more from the menu.
Anna was also really helpful in pointing us towards other restaurants in Galicia - insider knowledge coupled with a real passion for what she does.
Highly, highly recommended.

A food tour is fun to do and helps to sort the wheat from the chaff in terms of great places to eat out in a big tourist city. Anna was good company and very knowledgeable. She took us to 3 great restaurants ranging from the casual too the something slightly more up market. All offered good quality and something different from the crowd. We were a group of 6 ranging from 56 to 16 and everyone enjoyed the food. Unusually we were allowed to influence and choose what we ate without any cost implication.
A good evening out.

My wife and I were looking for something to do on a Sunday when many places are closed. Fortunately, the very positive reviews on Trip Advisor led me to The Kilomeaters. Anna was great to work with. We had the option of a cooking class or a restaurant/food tour and opted for the latter. Anna has an impressive knowledge of the food scene in Santiago and her willingness to share her experiences was most welcome and thoroughly enjoyable. We agreed in advance on what types of food we wanted to sample and Anna delivered. We went to two very fine restaurants and another place for dessert. All the foods were excellent and worth trying. In all, a very positive experience and one I would highly recommend.

Anna and Jorge were fabulous guides to the food of Spain from Michelin star to street food. They took care of everything for us with charm and finesse. We had a lot of fun walking, talking and eating. Highly recommend.
