It is interesting but much less historical than I expected, it is more interesting historically speaking to move towards the Castle, there are more interesting constructions. There is plenty to be done to regenerate the old city, they never thought it had tourism potential, and...More

Very small with nothing of interest compared to its neighbor Pontevedra. It does not have any outstanding monument, it does not have a great interest. After having visited the city of Pontevedra it was a disappointment. I wouldn't waste time here.

This is a very hilly and nice old area off the port and well worth a wander. There are a couple of squares and lots of nice restaurants.

This is one of the most unique and interesting statues I have seen in my recent trips. Having a “Merman” statue in a seaport shouldn’t be that odd but this is unusually strange. Worth the walk up the hill to see.

You might not spot this if you stay near the tourist traps, so take a walk up to the centre and you'll see this one. There's plenty of local bars around and all at reasonable prices too.

Compact old town, not yet ravaged by development, is an area of narrow streets connecting a number of squares and leading down to the port area of Vigo. Lots of small bars, cafes and restaurants and, of course, the famous mercado de Pedra (which I...More

There are now some lovely bars and restaurants in the old town and a fresh modern energy that can't be found in the rest of Vigo. Friday and Saturday nights can be busy with a mixture of venues for all ages. During the day, there...More

Vigo is really small so you can cover everywhere by foot. They have a good train system so you can walk to either station and get to Santiago de Compostela and other surrounding places of interest. Oyster street is very... More
