- nicdigby211 contributionsAmazing place to see three countries at one point across the Gibraltar Strait. This review is written from the point of view of a disabled person on a mobility scooter. Europa point is largely accessible, which was great to see. I managed to wheel to most of the places I wanted to as there were ramps and drop kerbs provided. The views are the main feature of this scenic point and the amazing fact that you can see Gibraltar, Spain and Africa all from the same point. It was very windy that day and there is no shade and no toilets that we found (that were open). There was only one bus that goes down there (the number 2 I think) and this is the end of the line for the bus route. The driver then has a break while the bus sits there and then departs from the same bus stop to go back up towards the bus station. The bus was fully accessible for my wheels. NB: you cannot walk or wheelchair from Europa Point up the east side of Gibraltar; there is no pavement , only a fast moving road tunnel through the rock. To get to the east side of the island you have to go (eg number 2) back to the bus station and then pick up another bus which goes halfway down the east side of Gibraltar.Visited July 2024Travelled with familyWritten 2 July 2024
- Tawny13Long Stratton, United Kingdom25 contributionsWhere Europe meets AfricaEasily reached by the number 2 bus from the market place. It is well worth the trip. The furthest point of Europe where it is possible to see Africa. Walking is easy. It was not over busy and there were plenty of information boards and benches to sit to enjoy the view. Cafe selling snacks and decent public toilet. Good playground. Unable to find the Bistro.Visited June 2024Travelled soloWritten 10 July 2024
- David KUnited Kingdom603 contributionsEuropa PointTake a no2 Bus to the point, Cost me £1.60 one way ( Sept 2024 price) It only takes 20 mins from centre of Gibraltar. The Trinty Lighthouse was nice to see Can't go into it. And the Mosque was having some work done to it and a lovely memorial tribute to General Sikorski and Hardings Battery with a massive Gun pointing out to sea. The view across to Africa was stunning The cafe was great, Serving cooked meals, snacks and drinks. Good place to rest.Visited September 2024Travelled soloWritten 8 September 2024

The new stadium has smartened up Europa Point and the place looks a lot better than when it was scrubland, the place has memorials and gives you history of battles and conflicts which is really interesting. I visited on a really windy day and due to it being so hot the breeze was welcome. I went to the cafeteria for a cold drink and the staff were pleasant and welcoming. I travelled by local bus the the point and then walked via the tunnels connecting to camp bay, little Bay and Rosia Bay before jumping on another bus to the Trafalger Cemetary.

Amazing views across the Strait of Gibraltar to the coast of north Africa ahead and across the Bay of Gibraltar to southern Spain to the right. Children's play equipment, cafe serving lovely cakes, bus stop for no.2, mosque, a battery named after Harding and a lighthouse may also be of interest. Visited once on the bus from the town centre and second time with a taxi tour tailor made for us by the driver.

Definitely not a case of ‘whats the point’ We have visited the point a few times. I would recommend the frequent bus service as it is quite a walk from the main part of Gib. I would also recommend taking a cardi or something to keep warm as even when it’s hot everywhere else it can be very windy and blowy. It’s a nice little walk with a small café with play equipment plus the mosque and lighthouse but otherwise not a lot else. I have never seen access to the mosque or lighthouse.

I walked here from the main Gibraltar town (not so easy as you have to pass through a tunnel without a good footpath at one point). There is a cafe, views of the straits, a big cannon and the lighthouse, but not much else.
Locally it is a popular place as there is a sports centre next to it and lots of parking (which is a big issue in Gibraltar).

Lighthouse positioned in a strategic point of the strait. Important for navigation. At the time of our visit everything was closed, perhaps with a travel agency we would be able to visit it internally (we also had little time). Free parking nearby with a short walk around.

Great views over to North Africa and back towards the rock. There is a large car park and cafe located here famed for its coffee and churros. The modest sights include the lighthouse, a church and an old gun battery and various memorial plaques. The point is well linked by a regular bus service. Around half a mile away is located the Gotham cave viewing platform, which rather disappointingly is not open at weekends or even much during the week days.

After we took the official bus line 2 to Europoint WITH a dog, we were refused a return trip on the same line because of the dog. And this despite the fact that we had been travelling in Gibraltar with a dog on the bus all day. We didn't use any other bus company. We had to take a taxi back... whoever thinks evil is a scoundrel - or. Gibraltar is a rip-off, expensive and not suitable for bringing dogs!

A bus goes every few minutes from the bus station at Casemates Square, and it means you see part of the country that you would otherwise miss.
A good walk round, and we did see Morocco very clearly from the end. There is a cafe there (which we didn't use), and a lighthouse and some things left from previous forays. Unfortunately the shrine was closed , due to the pandemic.

Despite the pretentious name, it is not the southernmost point of Europe. That cape is not called in european Moroccan (or Tarifa) point and is located a little further south from Algeciras. Here the name is european. However, walking here along Europe Road, we can see from afar... Mosque. No, it's not Morocco yet. This is still Europe. Yes, Europe is like that now. There is also a memorial to polish prime minister Sikorski, who died in a plane crash and previously stood at the airport of Gibraltar from which he took off. But the Poles asked to move the monument here. It's more convenient for them to gather... What remains of good old England is the lighthouse and Harding's battery, a reminder of the importance of Gibraltar to the former "Lady of the Seas".

We are staying in Gibralta in October. Is there a bus near marina bay we can catch to reach Europa Point ... and any idea of price
Written 25 September 2018
The main terminus is just outside the casement walls towards the Marina. We took a taxi down and the bus back which made it a little easier.

How far from the port is this? And what’s the best way to here here and back to port? Thanks
Written 8 July 2018
It is quite a way from the port, we got on the bus straight there, or you could get a taxi!

There is a fabulous restaurant in the parking lot - looks like a diner from outside, but the menu is surprisingly real food, and all meals were fabulous. What is the name of it?

The eatery in the car park is the Europa Point Express. They do really tasty stuff, and an absolutely over-the-top burger
