The Gibraltar Alameda Botanical Gardens are one of the best places to visit if you want peace and tranquillity whilst enjoying a wide variety of plants and trees from many continents. Admission is free and they open daily, seven days a week. The walks are on well paved paths. There is a bridge, band stand and even a mini water... More

The gardens are beautifully kept, although because of the incline of the hill they may not be accessible to everyone. They are calm and peaceful and there are some beautiful flowers.

Whilst on a brief stopover in Gib, we went for a walk around the gardens. Been up the rock several times, so we were looking for something different to do. The gardens are close to the cable car station, and below the Rock Hotel. They are nice and peaceful away from all the traffic and like most places in Gib... More

This beautiful area is an oasis from the hustle and bustle of Main Street. There are so many plants and flowers here, which show the Mediterranean flora at its best.

We had been to Gibraltar before and did not feel the need to go to the top of the Rock again, so we looked for other things. Walking around the Botanic Gardens was a very nice way to spend an hour or two. We enjoyed the gardens themselves and even the small (somewhat pathetic) zoo. There are lots of hills... More

Hard to find – just beyond the cable car station. There are steps to get up to the gardens which are hilly. Was a bit disappointing with lots of dead cactus. The sunken garden was attractive but I had to wait to cross the bridge as it was being used for a photo shoot. I saw a toad.

I've always liked the Botanic garden, but visits in the past (about 10 years ago) made it seem neglected, but that's certainly changed now. Lovely to while away some time in them.
