Simple but effective Christmas lighting make this a lovely atmospheric place right now. Plenty of nice places to eat and drink. Lovely.

If you are shopping for outlet shoes, or getting off the metro at this stop, you cannot miss it. It is a nice respite from the shopping with several restaurants in the plaza and surrounding neighborhood. It is not over run with tourists. If you...More

This square does not have much to recommend it during the day but I recently came through it at night and the bars and restaurants make it come alive with many dining outside.

Not sure who but came through here and there were at least some places open with customers sitting having lunch. Normally when I have been it is deserted.

This is the square you come to when you leave the Metro in Chueca. It is pleasant from an architectural perspective and has a number of cafes but the most interesting parts of this barrio are found when you leave this plaza in any direction.

The Metro stops here and you will emerge to find the usual collection of cafes and shops of Madrid. Design and features of the plaza are not all that interesting, but explore the area around it.

Plaza de Chueca is a small square in an area which is well worth a look. Narrow streets with intersting old buildings. Lively entertainment area at night and Madrid's gay area so I read.

We walked around this area and found the plaza to be nice but the stragglers / homeless that hang around kind of ruin it. While we sat to have a drink they were very obnoxious and drunk sitting against a wall of a closed business....More

Chueca
Chueca is the hip, gay neighbourhood of Madrid where
many of the streets are narrow and intimate, but where
the hustle and bustle and the eclectic storefronts and
people give it a distinctly urban feel. The main
thoroughfare is Calle Hortaleza and the main square is
Plaza Chueca, completely filled with terraza tables
serving copas (mixed drinks) during summer. A mixture
of trendy and grungy, some of the adult businesses
