Restaurants, stores, street performers and pastry shops along with historical buildings. We started our walking tour of Madrid here and returned several times during our trip.

Full of artist, mendicants, street vendors, Immigrants, young people, old people, restaurants, shops, demonstrations, policemen, cranes, workers. Some times difficult to go through but very impressive. This Plaza is a must in Madrid.

Its a nice lively and noisy square with plenty of action until late into the night and plenty of restaurants, bars and shopping areas nearby.

What is the name of the hotel? I was thinking of another hotel in a different city when I responded. Puerta del Sol is a plaza in Madrid.
