Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

This is the most important avenue in Madrid. It has many landmarks and historical places. I really like walking around the Castellana and observe the beautiful buildings. There are also many embassies, bars, restaurants, and very nice squares.

Quite far from the center of Mqdrid, 30 minutes by bus 147 from San Domingo. Interesting with its 2 towers leaning towards the interior of the square and its golden obelisk and with the large modern towers in the background. Not very far from the Barnabeu stadium.

When I go to Madrid I like to walk along the Castellana from the Calle del General Oraa until the Plaza de Colon. It is like a park with mature trees, flowers and shrubs, with wide sidewalks along the center. You can still see some of the remaining palaces that line the boulevard. I read that 80% of the original palaces that were there are gone and replaced by businesses and banks. There are several eating places along this boulevard and one place is the Embassy restaurant, that serves mouth watering desserts and tapas.

Took these photos on the evening of January 5 Three Kings Festival, Dia de los Reyes Magos. An amazing procession that I had the opportunity to view from my hotel, Intercontinental Madrid.

I love Madrid's historic core with its amazing unique architecture, incredible restaurants and shops and unmatchable nightlife.
It's obvious that the city has a very business side to it and this long street with modern buildings and skyscrapers is it.
You could be in any city with skyscrapers and you couldn't tell the difference.
Good to see another side of Madrid.
But it's not for me.
Give me the dynamic heart of the city any day.

Great walk to do taking time. From Atocha station as far as you like. The Cibeles and Neptuno fountains are a must and so is the Correos building.
Lots of places to stop and refresh and good shade from the trees in summer.

By walking this street we found a different face of the city: modern, taller and faster than the historic center.

This "Paseo" is simply a large boulevard that runs North/South in Madrid Spain. It is picturesque as it is riddled with nice trees, benches to sit around, water fountain and nice shops and restaurants.
It offers modern buildings and major department stores. Close to public transportation, taxi stops and major attractions.
Nice place to take a long stroll in the city.

The Paseo de la Castellana is a long north south avenue lined by office buildings, banks and financial institutions fancy stores and restaurants, as well as hotels and impressive modern architecture. You'll almost certainly walk along parts of this wide thoroughfare as it includes the Paseo del Prado to the south There are a number of government ministries located in the Nuevos Minsterios complex and the Santiago Bernabeu Stadium is also a much visited site and revered by Spanish and international football (soccer) enthusiasts, especially fans of Real Madrid.

Long avenue. We should try to split it in two parts. The first one from Columbus square (Plaza de Colón) to Castilla Square (Plaza Castilla). Many, many places to visit at this avenue. Think in Champs Elysées, Paris or Fith Av, Manhattan and you will understand the importance of La Castellana for Madrid. To begin with La Plaza de Colón is a wonderful square to spend sixty minutes walking; nest stop at Nuevos Ministerios' site and visit the biggest Spanish store (ECI) where you can find whatever you like; next stop at Real's stadium, there is a guide visit to it_; to end at Plaza Castilla you could visit a fantastic museum (Canal Isabel II). The second part could wait for other journey.
