This is a beautiful park with flower garden, ornate paths, a pond with boats. You will see families holding picnics, people jogging, groups skating and lots of people just going for a walk. On Sunday, it fills up with families and, during the week, with people walking around. Weekends also brings out entertainers. The gates are locked at night and... More

Love the lake in the middle of the park, where you can take a boat and row like in Hyde Park. Love the nice buildings nearby, even some private areas where one could pray for a few minutes; nice restaurant near the lake; toilet facilities are good there. There are people as usual playing for one's attention, playing the violins... More

I lived very close to the Retiro for a year and loved going and walking around. It is a great place to people watch, picnic, stroll, anything! Always something interesting to see, from the Crystal Palace, roller bladers, yoga classes or martial arts classes in the middle of the park.

The Retiro is incredible. This enormous park in an otherwise crowded part of an otherwise crowded city does wonders for the mind on a trip to Madrid. The park itself has so many different sections it's hard to remember: ponds, gardens, benches, lawns, statues, woods, playgrounds, workout equipment, and more. Perhaps the most impressive part is that seemingly all of... More

A peaceful retreat among the hustle and bustle of the busy city. True gem! Must see when in Madrid. This park is a great place to take in the views and great people watching opportunity.

Retiro Park is huge, it's next to the Ritz and Palace Hotels and has a lake with swans in it. What more can you ask for! It is also in walking distance to Serrano St. for your shopping needs or Castellan for attractions such as the MAN and Natural History Museum. I highly recommend a visit to this beautiful park!

This park is pretty big and various: different style of gardening, statues, fountains, a beautiful Palacio de Crystal and lot of path to follow. Lot of people jog around and cats lay lazily in the bushes. There's a lake where you can rent a rowboat. It's very relaxing and nice.
