Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

Fuente de Neptuno is a beautiful fountain. We came across it by chance late in the afternoon, and the sight was magical. The fountain was constructed in the late 18th century in the neoclassical style. It depicts the god of the sea, Neptune, on a chariot drawn by two sea horses and he is holding a trident and a coiled snake. It is an impressive fountain, and it looks even more so in the early evening. A sight not to miss. As with so many of Madrid's fountains, this one is also in the middle of a busy intersection, so it is hard getting very close to it. It's best viewed from a safe distance, from across the road. In the surrounding area there are some other interesting sights, the most famous being the Prado Museum, a few minutes away, as well as the Spanish Parliament, Congreso de los Diputados, just around the corner, and other important buildings.

Passed by here a couple of times, on foot and by bus, and it opened my eyes to the fact that taking the metro meant missing a lot of the sights and sounds of Madrid.

This is beautiful.

This is a beautiful sculpture/fountain in the heart of Bourbon Madrid. It is very close to the Prado Museum. It is one of the landmarks in the city with the Cibeles. It was designed by Ventura Rodriguez, a famous artist from the 18th century.

It occupies the centre of the Plaza de Cánovas del Castillo, at the beginning of the Paseo del Prado. This is one of the most beautiful marble fountains of Madrid, representing a shell-shaped carriage emerging from a rocky base and pulled by two hippocampi, symbols of storms at sea.

I like the fact that it has a lot of paintings everywhere.. It's too big that needs to be visited twice to finish everything.. After 5pm, the entrance fee is free..

The fountain is gorgeous, but is probably the most hard monument to take a photo of. There's no way to get closer, the transit is always on, you can just circle around on the sidewalks and try to have a zoom photo.

A beautiful fountain, remains from the Bourbon period in Madrid. It is located between the Prado and the Thyssen-Bornemisza Museum. It is located in the middle of a very busy crossroads, without pedestrian access.

The fountain was very pretty and maintained. Our excursion bus dropped us off here and the hop on and hop off bus picked us up here. There were a couple of restaurants in the area and souvenir shops. Very close to the arts area of Madrid.
