    Great Little Market in Madrid
I am here now and it’s a quaint little spot. Distrito Burger is absolutely delicious. I have not had an unpleasant burger as this is the only food my 7 year old is eating. They patata fries is nice and crispy. I tried several Uramaki rolls and the Tataki de Taranteli from Almadraba Experience. I did care it much as it is much more fat. Where I find the Tuna at home more meaty. The rolls we decent. Butter fish with avocado, mango with tuna and another one which I believe was tuna as well.

    Great market
This municipal market is located at Barrio Salamanca. It is smaller than the San Miguel one. But the variety of food that you find here is equally amazing: fresh seafood, meat, hams, fresh vegetables and fruits. It is less touristy than San Miguel. You see more locals.

    Nice smaller market
It’s a nice market, a little tucked away, so it’s much smaller and less crowded than Mercado de San Miguel. We visited late in the afternoon, so many businesses were already closed. We noticed the same thing with other markets, so go earlier in the day if you want to catch it with all vendors open.

This market is where the locals of the Salamanca district come to shop for wonderful foods, There are all sorts of meats, fish, fruits and vegetables, and cheeses that are sold here. You can also buy tapas and the like for a wonderful and tasty lunch. I believe the market has been in operation for well over 100 years. If you are in the neighborhood, then this market is a do not miss site to visit.

Mercado San Miguel gets all the glory, but this Market is the hidden gem. Great place to eat for waaaaay cheaper. Casa de dani serves the best tortilla de patata. There is a line to get in but worth the wait. Everyone is eating g this dish. They have 2 locations, 1 inside and 1 outside. This Market has great pastries as well and my ultimate favorite is the Portuguese Market that serves pastel de nata

We headed to Casa Dani for their famous Spanish tortilla and immediately loved the atmosphere of this market. It is not an open air market but an enclosed area filled with really good restaurants and stalls selling whole legs of Iberico ham, packets of cured meats, Spanish baked goods, boutique wines, and all kinds of fresh produce. So many interesting food items to peruse. Would go back again.

Always crowded and noisy in the three areas where you can have the best tortilla in Madrid, Casa Dani. Go early to get a place outside.

This is a top tier mercado so be prepared to pay for the experience. The best fresh foods including vegetables and meats with a good amount of space for gourmet eateries. Not at all as crowded as San Miguel so its very clean and inviting.
Nicely enclaved in the Salamanca neighborhood which is very trendy with lots of top name boutiques if you feel like walking around the surroundings.
Definietely worth a trip to see how the ritzy Madrileños live.

Located in calle Ayala, Salamanca District, this is place to visit many times. Be it to just enjoy the view , have a glass of wine, pair it with some cheese or have lunch. The fish, the fresh seafood, the oysters, veggies, all very fresh and beautifully arranged, a delight to appreciate! Should you be able to get a table for lunch, go to MATTEO. Simply delicious fresh pasta dishes and a Pinot Grigio (the house wine) for about 10 euros a bottle, is one not to miss. Open Monday to Friday. The Market offers many other choices for lunch. Go around noon for a better chance of a table.
