This is a stunning and detailed monument that is not accessible. It was moved to its present position in relatively recent years.

This is a beautifully sculpted monument which like all similar monuments in Madrid is stuck bang in the middle of a busy main road. However if you go to the West of it you can get a picture of the monument with the largest Spanish...More

This is a huge concrete monument constructed in 1977 as far as I can tell which will either impress or upset you depending on your view of modern architecture. It is certainly impressive close up and you can walk around its constituent parts.

This is not the first monument to Christopher Columbus I have seen in Spain. However this has a very scenic setting but difficult to get up to close as it is in the middle of a busy road.

Christopher Columbus discovered the New World for Spain and Madrid has rewarded his memory with this beautiful monument that calls attention. It is in one of the most visited plazas in Madrid and many people can see it.

Monumento de Cristobal Colon is another good monument situated in the middle of a busy roundabout. Inaccessible so difficult to appreciate in the large square without binoculars.

Colon Plaza was one of the most impressive area in Madrid for me. This colon stands at the center, so it is really special. Highly recommend!

This column dedicated to Christopher Columbus is set in the middle of a small roundabout and photos of it can only really be taken from a distance. It is an intricate column with fine detail and worth seeing only if you're passing by. It is...More
