Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

We're from the UK and only speak English, not Spanish. We had googled "Things to do in Madrid with kids" and found an article which recommended this place, amongst others. Thought the idea of a "Tooth mouse" rather than a tooth fairy was cute, so we went.
We could not get in, on the day we went, but did make a reservation for the following day. The staff did warn us that it was all in Spanish, however did say they had a guidebook in English that we could follow along with.
We had a woman leading our tour (don't know her name). Despite her speaking in Spanish and us not understanding her, she was very passionate about her job. All the Spanish kids responded well to her - they were raising their hands, shouting out answers, and enjoying themselves.
I would still recommend it, if you don't speak Spanish, because it was cheap (5 euros each), but be aware that this is the case.

Firstly, the whole tour is conducted in Spanish so if you don’t speak Spanish you will probably not get loads out of this experience. I translated for my kids so it was not too bad. They also have a brief overview in English which you can borrow whilst you tour.
That aside...
The host clearly loves her job and was passionate about the story she was telling (Maria 😊) however there was sadly not much time to explore the first room as once you have been ushered out for the next room, you cannot go back.
My 8 year old was actually really upset that she couldn’t look at anything due to the spoken part of the tour, which was quite long for any little ears.
Once you move into the second and third rooms there is more of a chance to look at things.
I really do think the guide was doing a good job, it was just a bit too much. We would have liked more time to explore but it ended up feeling like a conveyor belt. In and out!
It was €4 pp to enter and the gift shop wasn’t unreasonable. You may have to book a time slot and come back.

So, I figured after the Prado, my almost four year old deserved a museum of her own. It was a really cool experience. The tour of the museum is conducted in Spanish, so i had to translate everything to my kids. The tour is interactive, and tells the story of the little mouse. Despite a bit of a language barrier, my youngest wants to go there again, just in case she catches the glimpse of the mouse this time.
You have to purchase the tickets ahead of time, but we didnt really do that. we arrived at the museum, bought tickets and waited about 10 minutes for the tour to begin. The museum also has a fun gift shop.

Tiny museum that catches the small ones attention. They are going to be very aware about the Mosuse Perez’s life and family and how he keeps the children’s teeth when they are fallen off and leaves money or presents under their pillows. They are going to walk the tour by a story teller and maybe they are going to be lucky seeing the Mouse Perez or a member of his family hidden in his house. Good luck!!!

Saw the museum online and thought what a great place for my kid since He's 6, and often visited by tooth fairy...finally he decided to GO in the museum on our last day and since I knew they are working on a bit Strange opening time got there just on time...The museum is just neer the plaća se sol. in a building that is Like a small shopping center, on the 1st floor, not very good sings to get by...waited in line for like 15-20 min and when we finally got to the entrance the girl on the door said she doesn't sell the tiquets, and she can't help us, that her boss will be extremely mad If she let's us in, since the tour is prebooked ... so beware YOU HAVE TO PREBOOK or disapoint you're child... 😓

I was astounded to visit this museum with my children. A lot of thought and love must have been put into this enterprise and the result is absolutely fantastic. There were around 10 children in our group and they enjoyed every second of the (alas, short!) visit. Whoever created this museum for children should create a few more!

In the heart of Madrid, a place to take children & relive moments for those of us who keep alive the story of one of the most famous mice in the world !!!!
The access is through a Gallery (on the ground floor is the ticket office) and the museum is on the 1st floor, the entrance has a value of € 4 and are limited per day since it is a small place and it is recommended to access small children over 5 years old.
Great Family Plan!

Nice experience to do with children between 5 and 7 years. Very tender, full of learning for them and even an adult gets excited. Reservation must be made.

is it ok to visit if we don't know spanish?
Written 5 March 2017
