Together with the Royal Palace and the Plaza Oriente this church is a very fine proof of Madrid's impressing town center with majestic buildings. The church is huge and inside nicely decorated and with lots of art and history.

Fantastic building. Shrines are very beautiful. Worth a quick look around. You need to avoid times of worship.

A new cathedral, it is interesting in the art style, colours and motifs it employs. The climb to the dome is quite easy and a lift is available to those who need it. The view is nice.

We visited the cathederal as we have visited many on our trips. The cathederal is very impressive inside and out. Beautiful frescos and workmanship. A real feeling of history. Well worth a visit.

Impressive building with a lot of artworks, mostly modern. The combination of the light, music and atmosphere is unique.

We visited the cathedral when we found that the Royal Palace was closed. The cathedral is actually very modern and the interior reflects this. I was particularly impressed by the stained glass which was modern and incredibly vibrant. Some of the best I've seen. There is no charge for entry but it is suggested that you make a donation of... My wife and I had not planned on visiting, but we needed to kill some time until the Royal Palace next door opened. Having seen dozens of older churches across Spain, we were pleasantly surprised by the more modern style at Almudena. The views from the rooftop walkways across the city and especially of the Royal Palace are breathtaking. Photographer's... More

This cathedral surprise me, because from outside you think that tthis is nothing especial. But once you get inside, it offers you a great surorise. Many beautiful paintings on the walls, nice roof and a very large place to pray. Do not miss it!

There are some absolutely stunning items here but it also has some "modern art "approaches" which for us detracted from the more attractive elements.. It is free to enter with a requestbfor a donation which was nice . Worth a visit though
