Latina has some famous restaurants (I did not have time to eat there though). One of the wonderful features there is that it has an open market only on Sunday. So it is a good experience to visit it for a couple of hours.

La Latina is a mixed neighborhood situated south of Plaza Mayor and Casa Villa and can be visited by going to Metro of the same name. There's a bohemian aspect as well as a few poorer streets and quite a few poor beggars. Colourful graffiti...More

Unless you want to spend your afternoon with half of the city congregated into a three block radius, do not visit on Sunday when there are the flea markets going on. It’s beyond crowded. Like you cannot walk crowded. Might be fun to hang out...More

La Latina is a charming neighbourhood with two unique
personalities. At first glance, it’s distinctly
old-world, with narrow streets weaving a maze among
charming stone buildings in sunny, bright colors like
yellow and pink. The other side of La Latina is
characterized by a young population and a bohemian
vibe, as evidenced by a dynamic and evolving selection
of new bars, shops, coworking spaces, and other

The street is lined with restaurants. They range from fancy to casual. They all serve different types of tapas so it literally is your choice. They all seemed pretty good.
