It is a tourist trap. It doesn't have the best food. It is not the best layout. BUT it was worth every cent and such a good hour or so of entertainment. A highlight without a doubt. I had not much interest in going but went as my friend wanted to. It blew me away! Singers dancers and guitarists were... More

Good place for a Flamenco show and dinner. About 15 of us enjoyed a good dinner and show. Appetizers were very good as was the wine and sangria. The paella was only ok but the appetizer plates would have been enough. The show featured very good and energetic dancers, singers and guitarist.

I had the pleasure of visiting Las Carboneras last night. The service was excellent, friendly and efficient staff. I have to admit that I have had past experience of dining at shows and the food has been average. Very pleased to say that the food was very good, fresh and tasty, plenty of it. Drinks were provided, couldn't fault it.... More

We 3 ladies went here on Sunday evening. I booked this 2wks before. We had the 3 course dinner and unlimited wine. Wonderful fun evening and well worth the money around £60.

It is not that I haven't been to flamenco before and I dont appreciate what they do. It is just significantly worse than what I have seen in Sevilla.

We reserved with dinner to be sure of getting good seats and we were front and center. The dancing, playing, and singing were impassioned and skillful. The food was much better than it needed to be. We were delighted to have this intimate, thrilling experience of flamenco.

Las Carboneras had me at the first e-mail exchange. The person who picked up my booking request, Ernesto, was so friendly and helpful that I knew I couldnt go wrong. The place is beautiful and clean, staff is really kind, polite and smiley, dinner is soooo delicious and the Flamenco performance was just perfect!! Cannot recommend enough

Visited Las Carboneras for a Flamenco show having received good reviews from friends who had been here before. Please make sure that you book upfront as places are limited and you don't want to be crammed at the back for this. The staff are friendly and helpful. I did not have dinner here, so cannot comment on the food. The... More

Staying in Centro

Neighbourhood Profile
Centro
Expansive plazas, local and foreign crowds, street performers, colorful lights, window shopping, restaurant signs promising the best paella, ham, and churros con chocolate- this is downtown Madrid, a collection of plazas interconnected by a network of side streets. Some of these side streets are wide pedestrian shopping routes, and some are hidden, so it's possible to duck in and out of the bustle as desired. The iconic Puerta del Sol is the giant crossroads of the city and a must-see attraction at any time of the day. The nearby Plaza Mayor, completely enclosed by historic red buildings, is an ideal place to grab a bite to eat outside, amidst scores of tables and people out for a stroll. Plaza Isabel II (also known as “Opera”) is smaller and a good meeting spot, and the stately Plaza del Oriente is the front yard of the Royal Palace. Centro can be touristy (pickpockets are unfortuately not unheard-of here), crowded, and sometimes gimmicky, but it is also the place to experience classic Madrid.
