Jordi was an amazing guide! We were 6 people and were driven and guided by Jordi. The mini van was exceptional. We saw Punic walls, beach area, and so much more. Everyone loved him and the tour. Very professional and knowledgeable. One of the best 4 hours we have had on our trip!! Many thanks to Jordi for making our visit to Cartagena so memorable!

Did not know what to expect in this place, but decided price was right for a tour. Alisa, our guide, did a wonderful job of educating us on the history of Cartagena and guiding us to all the sites. Lots of up and down walking and stairs, but pace was fine. Cartagena is like a mini Rome with ruins, etc. and I enjoyed it a lot. The architecture is wonderful. Easy to walk from port and back. We actually ended the tour in a big square and Alisa showed us to the street where I had found a restaurant we wanted to try. A very good tour for the time and money.

Having been numerous times in Cartagena on cruises we wanted to do something different than just exploring the town on our own so I contacted Quality Guided Tours with whom we have toured before on a tour to Murcia and soon Jordi and Ana had us set up for this tour a few months ahead of our visit . I had formed a group of 10 people and we met our guide Ula Jimenez at the meeting place near the ship. Ula took us to 3 different locations and ordered the wine and Tapas for us . Some of these Tapas we would not have know as tourists to order but they were all very good and so was the wine . Ula also told us a few things about the city in very good English.
Everything was perfect exept for that in a couple of the places it was so busy that there were either no seats for us and it took a little while before we could be taken care of in the one location who I believe should have been told ahead of time that we were arriving .
All by all we were very pleased with the tour , the guide and the quality of the Tapas . We specially loved the final special Cartagena coffee , milk , liquor final drink of the day . I highly recommend Quality Guided Tours for any of their tours after now a couple of experiences.

Dani introduced us to Cartagena with a lovely walk around the ancient city. The group was small and compared to a ship tour, that was three times larger, this was definitely the way to go. Dani took time to answer individual questions and made the tour very personal. There were a great deal of stairs, however Dani kept the pace appropriate for the pace of the group. Dani’s language skills made the trip more enjoyable because he was so easy to understand. The appointed place to meet was very easy to find and a short walk from the ship. The tour concluded with plenty of time to eat or shop before walking back (2 blocks) to the ship. The small group is a perfect way to see the ancient part of Cartagena. I would highly recommend this tour.

Alisa was our guide from Quality tours. Alisa had great knowledge of the city and we covered a lot of ground in our 3 hours. She explained in good detail all the sites that we saw, and answered all our questions. Would recommend this walking tour to any first time visitor to Cartagena.

So, so disappointed in this tour, especially because we had used the same company the day before for Valencia and the tour was good. First, the tour was to consist of a visit to Serrano Winery where we would bottle our own sparkling wine to take with us (this was listed as a highlight on the company’s web site). Then we were to visit Cabo de Palos, with a highlight of seeing the oldest lighthouse in Spain. After that, we were to have lunch in Cabo de Palos to enjoy rice and a pairing of three wines. Sorry to say the tour consisted of almost none of that. We were taken first to Cabo de Palos to walk around the fishing village. We then drove right past the lighthouse with little commentary and no stop for photos. I guess we should have been more vocal. Then on to what we thought would be the highlight, the Serrano Winery. We arrived at a little farmhouse in the middle of nowhere and saw a few antique wine making pieces. Then we were taken inside and saw a few casks, lots of stuff hanging on the walls, some cobwebs, and then the wine tasting room (which was a charming little room). We did taste two different wines along with some snacks (100 Euros extra for our group of six). The couple who owned the farmhouse (I would not call it a winery) spoke only Spanish so our guide translated. We learned very little about wine. When we later commented to Ana about the misrepresentation, her comment was she thought we got 95% of what the tour consisted of. I think instead we got the 5%. Our guide Emilio was fine so I don’t fault him. But I do fault Ana because she knew the Serrano Winery had closed weeks before our tour and we saw her the day before our tour, yet she mentioned nothing about changing our tour. Her comment was that we should have said something to Emilio but what could we have done at that point. The company web site has been changed somewhat, but it still lists that you will bottle your own wine and learn about the different grapes. I really can’t recommend this tour at all. Although the company may do a great job with other tours (as evidenced by our tour in Valencia) and Emilio was a fine guide, this tour is not recommended.

Dear traveler, thank you for your feed back in TripAdvisor, let us clarify some details: 1.- You booked a private tour + transport for 6 people total 390€ + 100€ extra cost for visiting the winery. We advise you in a previous e-mail about the extra cost to your private visit. We opened this cellar just for you, an old farm from the roman period I AD and now a cellar from the XVIII. 2.- In the winery you exactly tasted: Red Wine bottled in amphoras like in the roman period, red wine from Cartagena, Vermut Wine from the region, moscatell wine, cheese, spanish ham (Jamón Serrano), spanish omelette, sausages from the region, almonds, bread and as a dessert, local quince and sweet wine. THIS IS NOT ONLY 2 WINES AND SOME SNACKS AS YOU MENTIONED. 3.- It was a private tour, only for you. Why during the tour you didn't say anything about to stop in the lighthouse, or to change the itinerary, or to check the timing?. That day was impossible to bottle the wine, but you didn't advise us in the moment: maybe we will try to offer you the oportunity to know how they bottle wine in amphoras like the romans and not bottle sparkly wine (as mentioned in "the program"). 4.- But what is even worse, you sent us an e-mail once the tour was finished (after eating, drinking, enjoying, discovering, etc) requesting us to pay you 195€. IN SPAIN THIS IS KNOWN AS BLACKMAIL. We answered your e-mails apologizing if something was wrong, and as you said the day before in Valencia everything was perfect, BUT IS NOt OUR FAIR IF YOU DIDN'T SAY ANYTHING DURING THE TOUR AND NOW YOU CRITICIZE OUR TOUR AND OUR COMPANY. WE ARE WONDERFUL TOUR GUIDES, BUT WE ARE NOT ADIVINE AND WE DIDN'T ACCEPT YOUR BLACKMAIL. Anyway, thank you for trusting in our services; it was a pity that you did not appreciate our work an effort. Best regards from Spain! Ana & Jordi Linares .-Private Tour Guides-.

The meeting place was easy to find and Ana was a few minutes early. She whisked us away in her comfortable minivan for a day comparing and contrasting Cartagena and Murcia.Ana is warm and knowledgeable and packed a lot into our day. Best might have been the interpretive centre for the ruins of Cartagena and the walk through the pedestrian part of Murcia.

Ana's English is clean and rich; she lived awhile in York in the UK.

I was in a wheelchair rehabbing a broken leg, and it was obvious that Ana knew how to adapt the tour for people with mobility issues. She made sure the places she chose wer accessible and it was one of our best shore excursions on the whole cruise. Highly recommended.

Ula our guide was promptly waiting for the group at the meeting point. We were a group of 3 couples who never met before. She was very welcoming and happy to share her knowledge and experiences with us. Ula spoke seven different languages and it was easy for her to communicate with others. Ula took us to all of the highlights of Cartagenia, we avoided most lines, and she had tickets for us to go the the wall museum and the lift. Her knowledge was plentiful and she had a fun and funny personality. I highly recommend this tour.

It has taken me some time to write regarding this tour and I had not planned to do so as another of our party had provided a lengthy review. I feel the need to add a few comments. We too were extremely disappointed in this tour, as noted because we used Quality Guided Tours the day before for a tour in Valencia and it was well done. We arrived at a little farmhouse in the middle of nowhere and saw a few antique wine making pieces. The couple who owned the farmhouse (I would not call it a winery) spoke only Spanish so our guide translated. We learned very little about wine. When we later commented to Ana about the tour, her comment was she thought we got 95% of what the tour consisted of. I found Ana's response a bit flippant as she knew Serrano Winery had closed weeks before our tour and she was our guide the day before. Her comment was that we should have said something to Emilio. I believe you address your grievances with the owner and by the time we had reached the farmhouse more than half the tour was over. We were able to work out a settlement whereby Ana agreed to refund 50 Euro to our group but by the time we returned home and I attempted to obtain the money, PayPal indicated the vendor had retracted the money claiming it was not authorized. Talk about bad business on top of bad business.

Dear traveler, You booked a private tour and you didn't say anything to the tour guide during the tour: you eat, drink and spent 4h in a private tour with private transport. Once you finish the tour, you asked for 200€ and you wrote a bad review in TRIPADVISOR because we didn't refund those 200€. This is considered BLACKMAIL. Once again, one year later as you said, you are now asking for 50€ refund. Maybe the next year you will ask for 5€. In any case we will not redund any money because you are BLACKMAILING. The unique two bad reviews in our profile it's thanks to you. Our family appreciates your effort in blackmailing us.

Ana, Jorge's sister and partner in Quality Guided Tours, is a history buff of Cartagena, which was fascinating. She was easy to talk to, open about life in Cartagena, economy and politics. We popped into a coffee shop that was closed but she knew the owner and convinced him to open his shop because she wanted to introduce us to the local coffee drink, Asatico. Yummy!
