About
El Real Casino de Murcia (Royal Casino of Murcia) is an emblematic building in the city of Murcia. Its unique architecture combines modernist and eclectic artistic styles, and the beauty of the building awakes the admiration of all visitors. In fact, it is the most visited civil building in Murcia. It is situated in the heart of the city centre, on Calle Trapería, close to the Cathedral. The Royal Casino hosts a great variety of cultural activities, such as art exhibitions, talks, conferences, three book clubs and book launches. Institutional ceremonies and business events are also held in the Royal Casino. The splendour of the historic building is perfectly preserved yet it is adapted to modern times.

- Monique MBenissa, Spain193 contributionsUnexpected beautiful surprise! We just went to the centre of Murcia to have a quick look without any expectations. First of all, the centre is really nice with some beautiful buildings and a good vibe. We wanted to see Real Casino de Murcia and we were more than impressed by what we saw. What a beautiful interior. Can strongly recommend to spend some time hereVisited October 2023Travelled as a coupleWritten 9 October 2023
- Paul LSouthwell, United Kingdom227 contributionsBeautiful building well worth visiting. We visited this lovely building while on a day trip from Alicante. The English language brochure was really lovely and the building itself was beautiful especially the Moorish elements at the front near the entrance. Definitely worth a visit. We were just sad that it didn’t have a restaurant as it would have been a lovely place to dine.Visited November 2023Travelled as a coupleWritten 18 November 2023
- John FTorquay, United Kingdom21 contributionsOne of Murcia's gemsAmazing building and very quirky. Although it's a private members' club a series of rooms or salons with a great variety of styles are open to the public for a small entry fee (€5 in 2024 with reductions depending on your category). It's well worth downloading the audio guide as this gives more information about each room. One of Murcia's don't miss attractions.Visited September 2024Travelled soloWritten 21 September 2024

Very easy to find in the centre of the old town and, during our visit, only €5 per adult entry. We were given an English version guide on entry which enhanced our experience with detailed background info. The art work and decor is simply stunning though, I believe, mostly inaccessible to wheelchair users due to stairs etc. Its not huge inside with only about 10 accessible areas but worth the effort - I would suggest that most visits would take about 30 to 60 minutes depending on how busy it is and how long you wish to soak in the splendour.

Really enjoyed wandering around the different rooms with the guidebook which was provided as part of the entrance fee. It wasn't too busy and we could spend plenty of time admiring the artwork. Definitely worth a visit if you're in Murcia!

The title 'Casino' is a little misleading. It is a fantastic building with wonderful artwork and decoration. The Ballroom is something to behold. There is an old galleried English Library which is breath-taking. Every room has a surprise. The very short audio tour guides you through the rooms and is perfectly judged and succinct.

Surprisingly large building tucked in amongst the other surrounding properties, the decor harked back to older times even though the Casino dates back only to the 1850`s and was recently renovated.
Fancy chandeliers, gold leaf and painted ceilings adorn the rooms.
The Casino is a private member`s club and only the downstairs area is open to the public and as such, I thought the entrance fee of three Euros a bit steep.....oh well......

Magnificent building, a tour guided by Monsieur Gaspar, a charming gentleman well aware of the history of this casino which functions as an ancient English club for gentlemen. Nothing to do with the building, but a word of advice, if you go to the restaurant of this casino, check the price of the wines which does not correspond at all with the price of the bill, a bottle of 50 euros magically goes to 80 euros , so visit the place which is worth it, but not the restaurant although the menu is excellent but not the price of the wines. But I don't stoop to their levels and I pay.

Real Casino de Murcia Men’s Club. Guidebooks are available in several languages, we selected English. Booklets guide you through each room and tell you the significance of that room and about the things you find in each room. The building dates to 1847 and was refurbished between 2006 and 2009. Definitely one of the must-see places in Murcia. Ballroom with ceiling fresco portraying Murcia’s most famous cultural figures like Francisco Salzillo. Entry Hall with Moorish effects

We were here on April 24th, 2022 (a Sunday) for only about 45 minutes. You should probably take a little bit more time than we did but we had our twin toddlers so we were a little bit on their schedule. They open at 10:30am and we were some of the first people there and continued to be some of the only people there for our visit. We thought for sure, with it being the weekend, that there would be a lot more people.
As a side note, we were staying in Valencia & Torreviaja and we knew Murcia was a fairly large town so we wanted to check it out. I really didn't get the impression there was much to do, though, in this town after some digging, so this is the only thing we did in Murcia. Not sure if there is anything better to do but this was the only thing I could find worth making the trip over for.

We had been recommended to visit the Casino and sincerely left it for the last day but when we went we were glad we made the visit because it is honestly a must among the emblematic places of the city. It's a real gem. Admission costs 5 euros and you can visit all its rooms which are impressive. When you enter you can scan a QR code that serves as Audio Guide and sincerely worth listening to to to admire even more the whole visit (architecture, paintings, sculptures...) a real wonder.

Buongiorno. Sarebbe possibile ,sempre se i/il biliardo è da carambola a tre sponde, venire a giocare oppure è riservato ai tesserati del circolo ? Grazie

Does somebody know how it is possible that this magnificent building has so many features from the moorish culture, the greek mythology, neo-baroque, but none or hardly any from the catholic culture, while Murcia and Spain were fully catholic in the last centuries, especially the elote mmembers of this club?
