Decided to take on a challenge and walk all the way up to the top and back down again with my husband. We are not regular exercisers so it was very challenging to do it. Its not for people who do struggle with inclines as...More
It's well worth the climb up for the stunning views. Take your time, take plenty of water and wear comfortable walking shoes.
We are a little out of condition, but still managed to get to the top eventually. We even witnessed someone jogging their way...More
Last did this walk over 20 years ago, many new buildings now line the route. I was not sure how I would go on having developed an irregular heartbeat and having a pacemaker fitted earlier this year, but I made it up okay in something...More

I think it took me an hour in the November Sun. take water. Follow road is best way rather than getting lost. Last few steps there is a Set of Rough steps so not suitable for anyone infirm. Glad I did it.

We walked all along Levante beach to the end pass McDonalds to start going up the hill. There was one small sign to the Cross then nothing. We took the wrong road going more to the right and ended up on a lovely walk to the watchtower (highly recommended) then came back and found the right route more to the left and going sharply and steeply up the hill. Hard going in the heat but not too far.

NO, you can get a taxi or walk up there. If you walk, please take your time, stop and look at the beautiful scenery, take lots of photos. Please take a bottle of water with you, as you will get very thirsty, as it is very hot. Please do NOT listen to anyone who tells you that there is a bar up at the top to get a drink of juice.....ALL LIES. It is a very, very long walk up. It is quicker coming back down. Please remember to have a photo taken of yourself sitting at the bottom of "La Cruz de Benidorm".....JUST TO PROVE THAT YOU HAVE DONE IT. I am 56 years old and unfit and overweight, but I walked all the way up and back down again. GOOD LUCK.
