Yesterday, April 21st, we visited Centro Interpretacion Parque Natural La Mata. Very interesting experience, we learnt a great deal regarding Flora & Fauna in and around both ponds. The lady in the Centro was very knowledgable. Aftewards we visited both Salinas, very enjoyable trip.

For €9.50 and €8.50 per over 65’s I think it’s reasonable pricing. The trip of approx 1 hour involves a ride on a tourist train, access to the salt lakes and a return journey. The guide explains the history etc which is interesting and the train has commentary also. At the exit of the salt works you stop and have an opportunity to buy some salt products. There is a public car park about 200 yards past the train stop which cost us €4 for about 90 minutes. The flamingos must have had the day off we visited or they were just dots on the horizon…. As someone else said “I also saw the mattress” but it was on public land obviously discarded from the road above and had nothing to do with the tour.

Good, not very good. Not too far from the city of Alicante. You can walk up to the lakes and the nature reserve. Not sure if bathing is allowed but there were people in the water. Pretty to look at. Unfortunately quite a lot of rubbish around
