Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

We took a day out from Benidorm to visit Villajoyosa and with the intention of the 4pm English speaking chocolate tour. We had attempted to phone and email several times to see if we could pre-book a tour but no contact was ever made. The website / leaflets advise arriving 15 mins early to obtain a ticket for the tour as numbers are limited to 50. We were there at 15:30 and the ticket machine was not working, no form of queue as people were waiting sporadically in the reception area.
A staff member came out at approx. 15:55 and was unable to fix the machine, she explained in English that everyone waiting would get entry. She then explained something in Spanish which appeared to cause a lot of animosity and friction. The gate was initially opened to people who had managed to gain a ticket (approx. 20 people) before a stampede for who else could get in as it would still be limited numbers, this caused a very tense atmosphere and frustrating for those that had arrived later getting in through the gate before people who had been waiting 25 mins + in cold weather. The staff member initially advised we would have to wait until 17:00 for the next tour which was a Spanish speaking tour, there was no negotiating when enquiring if English speakers could go in at 16:00 and Spanish wait until 17:00. She then stated she would arrange another tour in 5 mins, then changed her mind and said maximum 20 minutes a staff member would come out and an interim tour could be held. This staff member did not appear by 16:30 (whilst the factory pumped out the smell of chocolate) and due to waiting in the cold for 1 hour we decided to head back for the tram to Benidorm.
So unfortunately I cannot comment exactly on the tour but I think a better entry system could be organised and certainly communication skills!!

Don’t go there if your Spanish isn’t perfect! We waited two hours for a visit in Spanish, even though my family didn’t understand a word of it. The guide was very arrogant, and hardly spoke to us, she just pressed a few buttons to start a film and some sounds.
The webpage doesn’t mention anything about this and as the factory was closed, it was really a waste of time!

Their systems works Spanish.
You can't take a ticket because they are supposedly full.
But then suddenly at 4 p.m. people come and take a ticket for another hour and are allowed in.
On their website it is even worse the first 14 days there would be nothing free anymore.
Then you ask for an explanation in English from an English-speaking guide. This one shruts his shoulders. And you can not enter.

Guide and visit very well, something of disappointment because once we have shopped in the store we have bought that the prices are the same or more expensive than in any supermarket. Parking is impossible, you have to go 1 hour in advance to make sure you find room to park.
The factory only sees a very small part where the chocolates are wrapped far away.
The visit is free and if I have to highlight something it is the work of the Guide, otherwise very loose.

The visit to the Valor factory is very interesting and free. Visits are made for groups of 50 people. We reserve it online, although you can also go there directly and join a group, as long as there are vacant places. Our guide was Richi, who, according to what he told us, belongs to the sixth generation of the Valor family. The first one to start the business was D. Valeriano, known as Valor, hence the name. The visit is through explanatory videos; Then you enter a small museum, where there are photos of the family, and utensils and tools from the early days of the factory. The factory closes in August, so we couldn't see it. Finally, you visit the store, where you can buy all the products they make. A very interesting visit, and one that is part of the culture of Villajoyosa; In fact, in addition to this, there are several chocolate factories.

At least it’s free but you do end up buying chocolate at retail prices.
The visit comprises 1 display about the history of chocolate; 2 audio visual about the company but pretty basic; 3 the old factory with old machinery but some interesting displays of the old ways of working; 4 view from a high level viewing area of production (no real explanation) and 5 the shop.
The guide was interesting and informative.
But do not be fooled - you are not going to see much in the way of chocolate production or chocolate being processed and moulded.
Not likely to revisit unless more visibility or the real production.
Also do not use the drinks machine at the entrance, it took my money but no drink and staff not interested in a refund.

We were very impressed with the welcome procedure, even though we didn't reservexa place. The introductory film and speech given about the history was very good and not too long, which was followed by a tour of the museum. So happy that the family still own the business. What an excellent product and at reasonable prices. A true diamond of a business for Spain.

Recommendations that I make, and positive things: get your ticket online and avoid waiting in lines or not having it, and that it is free. I see these points as favorable.
The visit is worthless, everything cold, it was made for us by a young boy who belonged to the Valor family, who could give us passion because the work of his ancestors and the history are worth it.
The museum is ridiculous, the visit to the factory is to see it through a glass window and it just caught us that they were on vacation and we saw nothing but stopped machines.
When you enter the store they offer you a tasting of the chocolates that are probably less sold and the people like piranhas... But this is not their fault.
Another very, very ugly thing was handing out bones to some children and not others.
Take this as constructive criticism.

Quite simply, the best thing is free but they also don't teach you anything about how they make chocolate. In the end they give you a tasting in the store, in which almost all visitors buy something. If you are in Villajoyosa you can go, but just go from another place nearby I think it is not worth it

On our way home from Fonts de l'Algar we had decided to make a stop in Villa Joyosa, the city with the colorful houses and chocolate factories (in majority...!). We had read that there was going to be a festival in the city this last week in July, so we were looking forward to ⁇ having to experience a lot here. But when we came to the city, warm, tired and hungry, then all the shops and most restaurants were closed..! We found a street kitchen and bought kebab, and next to it a bridge where we could take pictures of a blast selection of houses in different colors... Unfortunately, the chocolate museums were also closed. The web said it was open, but the homepage said it was closed... Must admit that the mood became a little lazy in the family. But fortunately I found a Valor cafe that sold the same chocolate as the factory/museum, so there was a bit of tiny patch on the wound...
